Design and produce static and short-form video display ads for performance channels. Contribute creative strategy, copy direction, and concept testing alongside growth and performance marketing. Maintain a creative testing log, iterate on winning variants, and expand into broader brand work as the role grows.
Air is a Creative Ops System for creative teams. Our product automates the mindless tasks that creatives and marketers do every day to manage content and unlocks creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows. We launched in March 2021 and have raised +$70m from world-class venture capital groups including Avenir, Tiger Global, Headline Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, WndrCo, and Slack Ventures.
This role requires in-office attendance at least 3 days/week in New York City.
We're looking for a brand designer to join our growth team on a part-time contract basis, focused primarily on display advertising—static and video. This isn't a pure execution role. You'll have real input on creative strategy and copy direction, and we want someone who brings ideas, not just polished files.
We're open to a range of experience levels. What matters your appetite to learn and have an impact. This role has real potential to grow in scope and evolve into a full-time position for the right person.
- Design display ads across static and video formats. Own the design of performance creative across on Meta and emerging channels. Every ad should feel unmistakably Air.
- Contribute creative strategy—not just execution. Collaborate with the content and marketing team on concept development: hooks, headlines, messaging angles. Push back on weak ideas. Help write the brief before you pick up a tool.
- Build a creative testing engine with the growth team. Work with Performance Marketing on a concept → variant → measure → scale framework. Maintain a living creative log that captures what's working and why — not just a folder of finished files.
- Grow into more. As you ramp up, there's real room to take on broader brand design work—product marketing, events, social. We'd want to grow this role with someone who earns it.
- Strong design fundamentals - layout, typography, color. You know what good looks like and can execute it consistently.
- Video and motion experience - comfortable producing or directing short-form video creative. Motion chops are a plus; exceptional static work can compensate.
- Copy instinct - you don't need to be a copywriter, but you should have opinions about headlines and know when a hook isn't landing. A sense of humor mixed with a strong understanding of customer pain points is the Air equation.
- Idea generation - brings creative concepts to the table, not just executions. Comfortable pushing back and advocating for a direction. Works quickly, doesn’t over-(or under-)think, observes our audience feedback and iterates.
- Tools - Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Premiere, or similar video/motion tools.
- Based in NYC - available to work in-person typically Tuesday through Thursday at our New York office.
- Act like a driver: Take initiative and ownership without waiting to be told.
- Work in public: Share ideas openly, get feedback early, and collaborate across teams.
- Play to win: Aim high and bring creativity, adaptability, and focus to your work.
- Say the hard thing: Give and receive feedback with clarity and respect.
- Disagree and commit: Debate honestly, then align quickly to move forward together.
Why Air?
- Growth and Impact: Join a rapidly scaling company with a mission to transform the creative ops space. Your work will have a direct, tangible impact on our ARR growth.
