Summary

The Brand/Editorial Writer will pioneer our News Desk—an editorial initiative designed to tell timely, compelling stories about global work, powered by our data and the insights of our new economics function. You’ll work at the intersection of Deel’s communications and research teams, collaborating closely with our Economist and data partners to make sense of workforce trends, business growth, and customer stories.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create and shape Deel’s News Desk: its voice, editorial strategy, and publishing rhythm.

  • Collaborate with economists, analysts, and comms to develop a calendar of data-backed, newsworthy content.

  • Help define and evolve Deel’s editorial tone and presence across channels.

  • Turn complex workforce data into punchy, accessible insights.

  • Write, edit, and publish weekly content ranging from trend pieces and charts to narrative explainers.

  • Partner with design and social to create multimedia content optimized for reach and engagement.

  • Surface and tell stories from Deel’s customer base—how and where they’re growing, hiring, adapting.

  • Translate Deel’s product growth and business momentum into compelling editorial content.

  • Support communications campaigns, announcements, and moments with timely editorial output.

  • Maintain high journalistic standards in voice, accuracy, and sourcing.

  • Contribute to press, social media, and content efforts with crisp, creative storytelling.

  • Identify opportunities to partner with industry thought leaders on relevant content.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of writing experience, ideally including time in a newsroom or editorial environment

  • A strong portfolio of published work that blends data, business trends, and human stories

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills—especially under deadlines

  • Comfort working with researchers and translating data into layperson-friendly language

  • Curiosity about labor markets, global hiring, and how companies operate and grow

  • A collaborative, low-ego mindset and an eye for what’s timely and relevant.

  • Experience writing about economics, business, tech, or work culture

  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS or data-driven organizations

  • Exposure to global workforces or international business trends
