Job Responsibilities

Broker Dealer:

· Prepare regulatory filings (FINRA Focus, SSOI, Form Custody, Schedule 1, SIPC).

· Manage year-end audited 17a-5 financials and external audit engagements.

· Ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA, and other regulations, including capital compliance.

· Oversee journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and liquidity management.

· Handle ad hoc requests and regulatory inquiries.

· Stay updated on regulatory laws and best practices.Accounting:

· Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per GAAP.

· Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

· Collaborate with external auditors and provide documentation.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Active FINRA Series 27 license.

· 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3 years with a carrying broker-dealer.

· Deep knowledge of broker-dealer financial operations.

· Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

· Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

· Advanced knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures; seeks process improvements.

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.

· Proven ability to resolve complex operational and accounting challenges.

Compensation: Base salary $180,000–$200,000/year. Eligible for discretionary bonus and equity grants, based on skills, experience, and location.
