Role Summary:

We are looking for a BSA Manager to join our Compliance team and work on exploring, shaping, and building the future of business banking. You will work closely with Novo’s BSA Officer and broader risk and compliance teams to scale and optimize Novo’s BSA/AML & Sanctions compliance program, ensuring ongoing compliance with financial crime regulatory requirements and best practices.

About the role:
  • Assist the BSA Officer in implementing all aspects of Novo’s BSA Program, including driving automation and process optimization across Novo’s risk and compliance functions.

  • Oversee and support Novo’s risk and compliance operations teams. Provide guidance on escalations and ensure quality of compliance reviews spanning multiple functions

  • Compile key metrics, qualitative information and substantive analysis on patterns and overall impact to Novo’s BSA compliance program

  • Perform complex investigations, focusing on identification of large scale ML and Fraud risks to Novo’s platform

  • Ensure timely escalation and reporting of unusual activity to Novo’s banking partners

  • Support the BSA Officer in conducting risk assessments, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls, and identifying areas for improvement

  • Develop and conduct BSA/AML training programs for both Novo’s risk operations functions and the broader organization.

Requirements for the role:
  • 2-4 years of experience in an AML/Sanctions role at a financial institution or banking platform

  • Strong knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN Guidelines and other relevant BSA/AML/OFAC regulations

  • Experience leading a team of compliance professionals or providing meaningful oversight to compliance operations functions (i.e. transaction monitoring, KYC, sanctions, and/or periodic review)

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and experience with, or the ability to adapt to, a rapidly growing start-up with associated complexity and ambiguity.
