Prepare and analyze budgets and cost estimates, review cost proposals for accuracy and compliance, analyze expenses and trends, develop REAs, perform what-if and risk analyses, interpret cost guidelines and help establish policies, improve efficiency using software tools, and present budget proposals to senior management.
ASR requires a Budget Analyst to perform the following duties:
- Prepare / assist in developing budget and cost estimates
- Assist the Senior Managers in reviewing the cost proposals for completeness, accuracy and compliance with the requirements
- Review expenses and analyze trends. Prepare Request for Equitable Adjustment for financial resources to maintain the program/project
- Analyze cost data / budget for reasonableness
- Develop “what if” and risk analysis for the cost proposals / budgets
- Interpret budget / cost guidelines directives and assist in establishing policies for complying with the guidelines / instructions
- Develop ways to improve efficiency by using appropriate SW tools and applications – as applicable.
