Business Analyst - Technology Business Management (TBM) Expense Transparency Consultant
New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote; Additional Onsite Presence as Required)
Position Overview
Next Generation, Inc. is seeking experienced Technology Business Management (TBM) Expense Transparency Consultants to support enterprise-wide IT financial transparency initiatives across multiple technology service towers, including Product Management, Infrastructure & Operations, Cybersecurity, and other IT functions.
This is a Business Analyst position and not a Technical Business Analyst role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT financial management, cost transparency, budgeting, financial reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The consultant will play a key role in improving visibility into technology spending, strengthening financial accountability, and aligning IT investments with business value.
This position requires an individual who can effectively bridge Finance, IT, and business operations while managing complex financial datasets, cost allocation methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Business Management (TBM) & Expense Transparency- Lead and support Technology Business Management (TBM) Expense Transparency initiatives across all IT service towers.
- Ensure consistency in financial reporting, allocation methodologies, cost modeling practices, and transparency frameworks.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance TBM financial models and reporting structures.
- Support service tower mapping, cost allocation models, and run-versus-innovate classifications.
- Analyze and interpret IT spending patterns, cost drivers, and financial trends.
- Maintain and support reporting utilized to communicate IT financial performance and spending insights to leadership and stakeholders.
- Validate, update, and enhance allocation methodologies and cost transparency frameworks.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities for optimization, and potential cost efficiencies.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and defensibility of financial reporting outputs.
- Refine data sources, mapping logic, allocation rules, and financial assumptions to improve reporting quality.
- Partner closely with IT Service Owners, Finance teams, Procurement groups, and business stakeholders.
- Validate financial inputs and improve alignment between IT costs, services, and business outcomes.
- Facilitate discussions regarding cost structures, expense drivers, and budgeting strategies.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful business insights for non-financial audiences.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to IT financial management and TBM practices.
- Assist in establishing standardized reporting processes and governance frameworks.
- Promote financial accountability and transparency across IT organizations.
- Ensure compliance with established financial management and reporting standards.
- Demonstrated experience in:

- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- IT Budgeting and Cost Management
- Strong understanding of:

- Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, including:

- Proven ability to work effectively with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Experience supporting TBM frameworks and cost transparency initiatives.
- Knowledge of cost allocation methodologies and IT cost modeling best practices.
- Experience creating and maintaining financial transparency reporting and dashboards.
- Experience utilizing:
- Power BI
- Financial Dashboards
- Data Visualization Tools
- Executive Reporting Frameworks
- Ability to analyze large and complex financial datasets.
- Hands-on experience with:
- ServiceNow IT Financial Management (ITFM)
- ServiceNow CMDB
- ServiceNow Asset and Request Management
- ServiceNow Service Taxonomy Frameworks
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or comparable ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle Financials, or Workday Financial Management.
