The Business Development Leader – Architects & Designers (A&D) is a key strategic role responsible for understanding the needs of the influencer targets, developing strategies to address opportunities, and executing best in class relationship building, training and education, to achieve annual sales objectives for the Brizo business, inclusive of A&D residential and hospitality project work. This individual will own and grow relationships with key architects, designers, owners, developers, and influencers (owners, developers) for strategic customer targets and markets. 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with brand and channel teams to develop and implement the A&D marketing strategy for Luxury and Upper Premium brands that drive sales and profitable growth across multiple channels.

  • Owns and leads A&D strategy and management of design studios

  • Closely collaborates with key internal stakeholders – including Sales, Brand Marketing, Product, Channel, Finance – to ideate programs that achieve goals.

  • Contributes to the creation of KPI’s. Measures programs, communicates results of sell-in & sell-through in markets. Provides solutions based on results.

  • Act as Luxury A&D point of contact for corporate sales team and agency reps.

  • Plan, coordinate and execute branded customer events for the A&D community, working with marketing, national and regional sales teams, rep agencies & customers.

  • Communicate opportunities and specifications for projects written to appropriate cross-territory Sales Teams and Rep Agencies (US and International).  Assist with closing the sale for the spec as necessary with key decision makers.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with key A&D targets through relationship building and involvement in local and national associations, events and tradeshows (NEWH, AIA, ASID, IIDA). 

  • Develop CRM strategy and provide direction to Sales on leads/opportunities generated from trade shows, events and other lead generating services.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver sales presentations on Brizo products and programs. Have a complete understanding of the luxury market.

  • Work with channel marketing and manufacturers’ Rep agencies to help execute DFC’s Upper Premium & Luxury Strategy by providing coaching, resources and support to help target and build new A&D relationships, driving specifications within luxury projects.

Education & Experience:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent years of work experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or business development, ideally within channel/customer marketing, brand management, or a luxury industry.

  • Prior experience working with architectural or design firms preferred.

  • Experience in luxury brands, fashion, or high-end design is a strong plus.

  • Skillful and impactful communicator with the ability to deliver presentations with poise, confidence, and authentic style.

  • Proven ability to establish relationships, trust and credibility and follow through on decisions.

  • Curious, creative, passionate, and innovative thinker - enthusiastic about the opportunities of the future and always in learning mode.

  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude that exhibits passion and optimism. 

  • Strong ability to glean insights and tell a story from data, analytics and insights inspiring action and change.

  • Strong fiscal management skills with proven record of improving efficiency of marketing spend.

  • Extensive travel required, primarily within the U.S.
