Job Summary:
Xylem Inc. seeks to hire a Business Development Manager - Flygt ADS (Automation & Digital Solutions) to support, develop, and drive the sales efforts of Flygt branch offices and channel partners in the Northeast Region. This role collaborates closely with Sales Management and channel partners to maximize market penetration and increase sales of Flygt ADS products, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of municipal and industrial markets across the territory.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Support and develop the sales efforts of Xylem branch offices and channel partners within your geographic area, serving as a technical sales resource for digital products and solutions through coaching and mentoring personnel.
Provide technical sales training of Flygt ADS products for direct sales organization and channel partners.
Assist sales organization with specification / application review: decipher engineering specifications and provide standard product solution wherever possible. Utilize existing manuals and application guides to determine the ability to deliver complete Xylem branded solutions.
Coordinate sales efforts with Flygt direct sales organization and channel management.
Utilize CRM tools to manage daily activities, maintain accurate sales records, and support reporting for revenue objectives, including scorecards and KPIs.
Assist marketing in identifying new markets and product opportunities.
Monitor and report competitor activities within assigned territories.
Attend trade shows and industry events to stay informed on product trends and market developments.
Motivate and influence non-direct reports to execute strategic initiatives effectively.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree required
At least 5 years of experience in automation & controls, preferably in a technical field
Strong technical aptitude and working knowledge of PLC’s, telemetry, distributed control networks and industry standard communication protocols
Water/Wastewater industry knowledge
Strong communication and organizational skills with solid computer proficiency
Expertise in consultative and value-based selling
Ability to manage sales funnels effectively using CRM tools
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering degree
Knowledge of Salesforce.com
