Job Description

This role is based in New York City.

  • A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $55,000 USD - $80,000 USD plus commissions. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to professional training, professional experience, professional achievement, and location.
  • The job posting will expire on June 23, 2025.

Role Overview:

We're seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand our client base and drive revenue growth for Omdia. This quota-carrying position focuses on new business development, cold calling, and outreach to uncover and close new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and market research
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of high-potential leads
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to grow market share

Client Engagement

  • Cultivate strong relationships with new clients as a trusted advisor
  • Understand client needs and propose tailored solutions
  • Design and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations

Sales Process Management

  • Lead negotiations and close deals
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasts using Salesforce

Collaboration and Market Intelligence

  • Work closely with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales Development teams
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor offerings
  • Provide feedback to improve products and sales strategies

Professional Development

  • Continuously enhance sales skills and industry knowledge
  • Attend industry events and networking functions

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven B2B sales experience with a track record of meeting/exceeding quotas
  • Strong cold calling and prospecting skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex solutions to various decision-makers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or account management, with a focus on:
    • Prospecting and lead generation
    • Cold calling and outreach
    • Closing new business deals
  • Demonstrable experience as a top-performing individual contributor in a solutions-based B2B environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.com or similar platforms
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Ability to articulate complex propositions to multi-stakeholder buyers confidently
  • Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented approach to hunting new business opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the technology, media, telecoms, or related marketplaces and their business models
  • Commercial acumen and ability to understand wider industry issues
  • Consultative sales approach with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly with new prospects
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Marketing, or Technology)
