As a Business Development Manager based in your respective market, you will be responsible for rolling out the Zipline Dropbox system in your respective targeted metro in North America. You will own the commercial property owner engagement from site identification, presenting value propositions, negotiations, contract execution, and support through permitting, approvals, and installation. You will work closely with the Customer Success, Real Estate Development, Legal, Ground Deployment and Launch and Scale teams to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and secure the necessary approvals to enable commercial real estate for drone logistics.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be highly organized, fluent with g-suite, be a driven self-starter and a passionate communicator. You should have influential sales skills and instincts, and an ability to explain new ideas and concepts in a simple and compelling way. Finally, you should be a tenacious self-starter who is comfortable bringing prospects along a journey and building process for scale.
This position if a hybrid/field-based role and will involve a mix of telephone, email and face to face in market engagements.
What You'll Do- Prospect and build relationships with landlords, property managers, and commercial real estate owners across your respective market and surrounding areas
- Execute multi-channel outreach (phone, email, in-person meetings, networking events) to introduce Zipline’s Dropbox program and its benefits for property value, tenant attraction, and community convenience
- Craft compelling, data-driven pitches and presentations tailored to real estate decision-makers, highlighting property performance opportunities and sustainability advantages
- Own the full deal cycle: from initial outreach and site evaluations to contract negotiations, permitting support, and successful Dropbox placement
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Real Estate, Operations, Permitting, and Sales/Customer Success) to ensure smooth onboarding and activation of new locations
- Maintain a robust pipeline of prospective properties and track progress toward network expansion targets
- Stay current on local zoning, real estate trends, and drone-delivery regulations to position Zipline as the preferred partner
- 4+ years of full-cycle sales or business development experience (field sales, real estate leasing, or partnership development preferred)
- Proven track record of building trusted relationships and closing complex deals with senior decision-makers
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate, shopping center operations, or retail property management is a big plus
- Comfortable with cold outreach, in-person meetings, and territory ownership
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

The starting cash range for this role is $120,000-160,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
