🌟 Role overview

GovWell is hiring a Business Development Manager to help accelerate our growth by building and leading customer acquisition efforts. You’ll be responsible for engaging prospective government customers — on the phone, over email, and at events — while shaping the playbook for how GovWell grows. This role reports directly to Shane Lieberman, Manager of Business Development, and offers significant ownership and growth potential in a fast-scaling startup.

We have a hybrid work culture that combines regular in-person collaboration at our New York City office (3+ days per week) with flexibility to work remotely.

☀️ Why GovWell?
  • A mission that matters: Building AI-powered products to fix outdated government systems isn’t just a technical challenge—it’s a historic opportunity to improve our foundational relationship with government and ensure trillions of tax dollars result in high quality services. WATCH: Mission & Vision with CEO & Co-Founder Troy LeCaire

  • Real-world impact: GovWell’s product is the system of record for government services that affect millions of Americans. From streamlining permitting for small businesses to accelerating affordable housing development, your work will make an immediate difference.

  • Join a startup in hyper-growth: We’ve found product-market fit and are scaling the business very quickly (6X ARR growth in the last year). As an early team member, you’ll learn what it takes to build a successful startup. You’ll work closely with the founders while enjoying exceptional autonomy and ownership over your work.

💻 What you’ll do
  • Grow the business by engaging and building relationships with potential customers on the phone, over email, and at events & conferences.

  • Contribute to our growth strategy via creative new outreach strategies and messaging that resonates. On a given day, you might write a new email sequence, revamp your cold call script, travel to attend a conference, or decide that a value proposition we hadn’t considered before is actually what resonates best with prospects.

  • Hustle, a lot. Compared to a larger company, you’ll have way more autonomy to come up with your own strategies, but at the end of the day we need someone who can get sh*t done and execute.

  • Help define our company culture as an exciting place to work and grow.

🧠 Who you are
  • Early in your career, with 0–3 years of work experience, eager to grow in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • A confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people, especially over the phone.

  • A fast learner who quickly grasps new concepts and adapts based on feedback.

  • Resilient and persistent — comfortable hearing many “nos” before getting to a “yes.”

  • Strong alignment with our Core Values.

💸 Compensation and benefits

Compensation within the posted salary band will be commensurate with experience. All offers will include:

  • Competitive base salary.

  • Equity / stock options.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 401(k) program.

  • Flexible PTO.
