Wells Fargo is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Officer to join its Capital Finance team, where you will be instrumental in fueling growth through the origination, structuring, and execution of secured credit facilities for middle-market and large corporate clients. This role demands a deep understanding of collateral-based financing, strong credit analysis skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with private equity firms, investment banks, and internal stakeholders. You'll identify new business opportunities, tailor financing solutions to client needs, and lead transactions from origination through execution, all while navigating a dynamic and competitive financial landscape.

In this role, you will:
- Act as a top subject matter expert to lead complex, innovative, and diverse initiatives with enterprise impact, high risk or with significant scope, cost, and benefits
- Lead the sourcing of new clients or growing of existing relationships for a given product or specialty, with a particular focus on growing middle market, mid-corporate and corporate banking relationships
- Lead the strategy and resolution of the most complex and significant challenges across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale, broad-reaching, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and resolution
- Understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to grow strategic relationships within the context of individual deals and client relationships
- Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding large-scale companywide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and financial operations
- Provide subject matter expertise to peers and leaders in partnership with coverage teams, as well as work on the most complex, larger, and multi-product financing opportunities, including analyzing potential opportunities, structuring, proposing, and selling tailored financial solutions to clients, strategically leading internal coordination, and submitting transactions to management or independent risk for approval
- Represent the company externally to resolve client issues and achieve business objectives
- Partner with product management functional partners to provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise on evolving market needs that significantly influence the business and improve financial outcomes, including large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
- Serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals
- 10+ years of secured or specialized lending sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Ability to source new financing opportunities and build relationships with clients, private equity firms, and investment banks
- Understanding of secured credit facilities, risk evaluation, and structuring deals
- Experience with ABL solutions, including financing for growth, recapitalizations, and refinancing
- Ability to lead deal teams through analysis, approval, and execution phases
- Ability to create compelling pitch decks and credit proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field
- Up to 50% Travel
