About The Role

BDRs build the foundations of our business relationships and develop valuable sales skills. Their role is to identify and qualify new sales opportunities through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn approaches and other social networks in order to set up product demos.

BDRs must be organized, rigorous, disciplined and are responsible for updating our CRM (Salesforce). Being the first point of contact with our prospects, BDRs are essential in our Sales team, closely working with Account Executives to ensure leads are converted into active clients.

This role serves as a strong foundation for future account management opportunities and offers valuable insight into the art of sales. Working alongside experienced sales professionals, you’ll play a key role in building and shaping our U.S. sales team.

Your responsibilities:

Identify relevant prospects (20%)

  • Identify, research, and prioritize target accounts in industries such as retail, pharma, luxury, cosmetics, and industrials that rely on international freight.
  • Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns and convert them into sales-ready opportunities with clear context and next steps.

Contacting prospects to get appointments (70%)

  • Execute multi-channel outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn) to engage logistics managers, supply chain directors, and operations leads at mid-market and enterprise companies.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to hand off qualified opportunities and ensure a smooth transition through the sales process.

Improve our sales methods (10%)

  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities, pipeline status, and prospect notes in the CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot).
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings, pipeline contribution, and activity volume.
  • Continuously develop your freight forwarding expertise — modes, Incoterms, customs, sustainability, etc.

Why join OVRSEA?

  • Career Opportunities: Start as a BDR and advance quickly into roles like Account Executive or Account Manager.
  • Startup spirit: Be part of a growing, close-knit team, driving the international transport revolution.
  • High impact: The BDR team contributes directly to 90% of new customer acquisitions, making your work essential to OVRSEA’s success.
  • Exceptional training: Benefit from hands-on mentorship and tailored onboarding in both sales and international logistics, building a strong foundation for your career.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You are eager to learn about global trade, supply chains, logistics technology and the dynamic world of global freight.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently in both written and spoken interactions.
  • You have a proven track record of self-sourcing pipeline through cold outreach and creative multi-touch sequences.
  • Willingness to work in a small, growing team and contribute to strengthening a presence in a new market
  • Organized and thorough, you are skilled at managing tasks and diligently following up with prospects.
