About Cascade

If you've done BD in architecture, engineering or construction, you know the problem. You hear about the RFP when everyone else does. The design team is already named. The owner has already had lunch with three competitors. The work that actually wins comes from knowing about a project six months before it's public, and that knowledge is what our AI is extracting.

Cascade is an AI platform that tells architecture, engineering, and construction firms about projects before they hit the street. We read grants, planning filings, land deals, bond issuances, news, and who's who on a project, and turn that into a feed of predicted work graded by fit, with the reasoning shown and the right contact named. Firms use Cascade to find work and decide what to pursue in the public and private sectors.

Cascade raised $3.5 million from top Silicon Valley investors including Andreessen Horowitz Speedrun. We’ve been featured on Forbes, TechCrunch, WSJ, Fortune and Business Insider. The founding team is from Google, Amazon, Microsoft and IBM. You’ll join a fast moving team of highly intelligent people, growing rapidly with customer demand.

What you'll do

  • Find new data sources and ways to spot public and private projects before the RFP

  • Check the AI's predictions against what customers need

  • Shape the product, including new features and how we present the our predictions

  • Explain new ideas to AEC teams used to working a certain way

  • Run demos and sales calls, and onboard customers

  • Work out who at the owner, developer, brokerage or design team a firm should contact on a project

  • Bring in partners from your network

  • Build a community and create content for AEC BD professionals

What we're looking for

  • BD experience at an AEC firm with $20M+ in revenue. Relevant titles include Business Development Manager or Director, Client Development Manager, Capture Manager, Market Sector Leader, or Preconstruction Manager

  • Experience running go/no-go decisions and a clear sense of what makes a project worth chasing

  • Working knowledge of both public and private procurement

  • An existing network in the Northeast or wider East Coast, including real estate agents and major brokerages

  • Highly innovative, and willing to move fast at a startup’s speed. Open to new tools and ways of working

  • A track record of finding work through channels beyond the standard RFP pipeline

Nice to have

  • Existing partnerships you could bring to Cascade

  • A following or presence in the AEC community, online or in person

  • Strong private real estate knowledge, including how developers, architects, and engineers come together early on a project

  • Comfortable running demos and selling a software product

  • Experience writing proposals

Compensation

Competitive salary, depending on experience, plus commission and equity in the company. Premium healthcare, meals in the office and a learning budget. Open to part time and contractors as well!
