This role is responsible for analyzing business requirements and creating the technical specifications for Business Intelligence (BI) systems to integrate with databases, data warehouses/marts and Intelligence Data Management (IDM). The primary focus of the role is blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, rolling out and maintaining BI solutions for business owners. In this role, incumbents will work with multiple types of healthcare customer data, designing and creating engaging, high-impact dashboards and visualizations and analyzing data, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement.
  • Work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) architects to gather and document required BI system requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to develop data objects and/or framework ensuring business smart resource allocation.
  • Extract, transform and load data into BI applications (requires data modeling across multiple data sources).
  • Develop, test and debug BI applications and ad-hoc reports. Develop front end reporting applications using Tableau and Cognos.
  • Utilize scripting language to meet complex business requirements.
  • Provide support as required to ensure the data availability and performance of enterprise data and BI environments for both external and internal users. Resolve data and reporting issues from business partners.
  • Assist architects, as needed, with client presentations and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with other developers on the application of standards and best practices and contribute to the evolution of best practices and standards aimed at improving scalability, performance and maintainability; as well as, mentoring junior staff on the use and value of those standards.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle including, requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, training, implementation, and support of reporting applications to be used internally by our employees.
  • Use creativity and curiosity to partner with associates in other business areas to define business needs and help translate those needs into reporting system requirements.
  • Interface with other teams and departments to develop new and modify existing reporting applications.
  • Provide data and programming expertise to meet internal ad hoc data requirements.

Responsibilities

Requires Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Computer Science or Information Technology) and 2 to 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI) development.
Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist using Qlik technologies (QlikView/Sense and NPrinting).
Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.
In-depth understanding of database management systems, HADOOP and Big Data environments, familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Online Analytical Processing, Extract Transform Load, Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Qlik Data Analytics).
Strong knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
Analytical mindset with a problem-solving aptitude.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
