About the Role 

iCapital is seeking a Business Intelligence Data Engineer to join its Data and Analytics team as an Assistant Vice President. In this role, you will partner with leaders across departments to understand their processes and challenges, then design data-driven solutions to address their needs. Your work will span the full data lifecycle—covering ingestion, centralization, governance, and business intelligence—while requiring hands-on involvement in the technical implementation. This position reports directly to the Head of Business Intelligence.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with a cross section of iCapital Business professionals to implement new reporting and business intelligence dashboards to drive mission critical decision making and insights across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Executive Management.
  • Work closely with our Finance, Sales, Product, Architecture, Engineering, and other business units across the firm to:
  • Develop an understanding of and work to enhance our evolving data model.
  • Gather requirements, design solutions and implement new reporting solutions.
  • Partner with the head of business intelligence and others across the firm to:
    • Continuously expand the use of data driven analytics.
    • Further systematize the Business Intelligence process.
    • Expand the self-service Business Intelligence and Reporting capabilities to additional areas of iCapital.

Qualifications 

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, naturally curious, and willing to question the status quo to understand business needs.
  • Experience with gathering requirements and implementing solutions in a systematic way.
  • Intermediate SQL competency.
  • 3-5 years’ experience using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau is a plus).
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to liaise between senior business and technical engineering professionals.
  • Understanding and experience with data modeling, relational databases, conceptual and physical data models.
  • Familiar with core data governance principles, data stewardship, traceability, lineage.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the financial services domain is a plus.
  • Technical degree background (math, computer science, engineering, management information systems) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5+ years of previous work experience in a data related role

Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. Employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes an employer matched retirement plan, generously subsidized healthcare with 100% employer paid dental, vision, telemedicine, and virtual mental health counseling, parental leave, and unlimited paid time off (PTO). 

We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
