About the RoleThe Buyer I is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to meet the company’s operational requirements. This entry-level position involves the processing of purchase orders, conducting routine procurement tasks, supporting senior buyers, and maintaining procurement records. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and negotiation techniques, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Excel.
In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders and the solicitation of bid proposals. You will conduct routine procurement tasks under supervision and support senior buyers in supplier communication and order tracking. Additionally, you will maintain procurement records and spreadsheets, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to meet operational needs. You will communicate with suppliers to resolve issues related to delivery, quality, and pricing, participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes, and assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies.About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes and principles.
  • Familiarity with supplier management and basic negotiation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Excel.
  • Good oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Awareness of the types of products and services relevant to Sierra Space.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.


Compensation:

Pay Range:

$61,336.00 - $84,337.00

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
