Role & Responsibilities

  • Role is a senior contributor to our strategic buy-side team, part of our Americas Index Sales organization within FTSE Russell
  • Role will lead some of our most critical relationships, with the primary goal of growing the usage of FTSE Russell indexes across the client’s relevant passive investment products and solutions (e.g. mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, CITs, etc.)
  • Candidate will need to build and set clear account strategies to unlock new opportunities with clients, including new product launches linked to FTSE Russell indexes and switching existing products from other index providers
  • Internal team work and partnership will be required across our sales organization as well as our partners across Index Research, Product, Legal, Marketing and with LSEG account managers
  • Candidate will be the primary representative of our firm to our clients, handling both strategic engagement and day to day account management duties including:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with key decision-makers across client organizations.
    • Develop and implement strategic account plans to advance FTSE Russell opportunities and align with broader LSEG relationship
    • Pitch new investment ideas for index-linked products across our full suite of FTSE Russell indexes including factors, thematic, sustainable, crypto, real-estate, infrastructure and private asset solutions
    • Engage collaboratively and strategically with clients on their key investment objectives and position our indexes to meet those needs
    • Deliver insights and actionable market intelligence regarding product development, distribution, marketing and regulatory updates
    • Solicit client feedback on FTSE Russell initiatives, research and future product development
    • Develop a sales pipeline for new index-linked fund launches and switch opportunities across the client’s product line-up, including ETFs, direct indexing and retirement products
    • Role may also include licensing deals for new data opportunities
    • Be prepared to engage on contractual requirements for new business and renewals as well as to resolve unlicensed client Index usage
    • Lead co-marketing engagements on our shared book of business to help increase AUM in clients' products linked to our indexes

Skills, Requirements & Competencies

  • Proven experience in sales and relationship management, ideally in index sales, wholesaling and / or other investment related business development roles
  • Strong hunting mentality and ability to quickly identify, pursue and close opportunities
  • Established relationships amongst passive issuers preferred
  • Ability to travel frequently to see clients
  • Experience either working for or selling to US asset managers and / or wealth managers
  • Deep knowledge of investment products, processes and the trends of the global investment industry including ETF usage, product development, direct indexing and wealth / retirement planning
  • A strong and quantifiable sales track record
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to build materials and present to clients and internal team members
  • Ability to build client facing presentations that incorporate industry themes, and client specific observations when pitching for business
  • interest in public speaking preferred
  • Ability to multitask and balance demands and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Capable of working as part of a team and independently to reach team and individual targets respectively
  • Motivated by and able to thrive in a targeted sales environment and comfortable in a constantly evolving organization
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a Finance, Economics or Engineering related field
  • MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce proficiency is a must
  • Candidate will use Salesforce and other sales tools such as SalesLoft and other technologies to optimize client outreach and engagement

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $133,100 - $221,900.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Variable Incentive Compensation plan. Target variable compensation will be commensurate with the posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
