Job Description

This role is based out of Singapore and has the unique opportunity to have a direct impact on Wise’s card product and our cardholders, globally. As our Spend Health System Expert, you will be given access to an extensive dataset and have the chance to transform the data into actionable insights, enabling our Product team to make data-driven decisions and paving the way for product optimisation.

This is a highly dynamic role with up to 70% of your time dedicated to project-based initiatives - you will be expected to collaborate and engage with our card product teams across regions, to understand their data requirements and develop insights which are impactful and actionable. You will also be responsible for creating, building and maintaining dashboards that effectively communicate data insights. The remaining 30% of your responsibilities will involve operational tasks that include performance tracking on key health indicators and trends, in order to identify opportunities for improvement. You will be expected to independently investigate transaction processing behaviors, develop metrics to effectively indicate the health of our card payment systems for ongoing monitoring, and identify areas for improvement. A deep understanding of the card payment landscape is essential. A good understanding of Visa and Mastercard regulations will be advantageous as well.

Key Skills required to succeed:

  • Project Management: Experience in managing project-based initiatives, which includes prioritisation of tasks and impact analysis.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Capability to independently investigate transaction processing behaviors and identify areas for improvement.
  • Understanding of Card Payment Systems: Deep knowledge of the card payment landscape, including Visa and Mastercard regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze spend transaction data and develop metrics to monitor the health of card payment systems.
  • Data Interpretation: Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights via effective storytelling.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in monitoring and building health and compliance metrics.
  • Operational Efficiency: Investigate and respond to all spend health related queries in a timely manner; and execute operational monitoring tasks and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with data analysis tools and software that may be used in analytics and monitoring such as SQL, python, excel etc.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with card product stakeholders to provide support and insights.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to support product improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements based on findings, and contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel etc.).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of payment processing systems and technologies.
  • Understanding of local card regulations and Visa and Mastercard regulations.
  • Certification in data analysis or related fields.
