Are you a current undergraduate student interested in venture capital?
Cerity Partners Ventures (“CPV”) is launching an innovative unpaid part-time externship program called Cerity Partners Ventures College. Founded as Touchdown Ventures in 2014, CPV pioneered Venture Capital-as-a-Service (VCaaS) for corporations, working with leading brands like Kellogg’s, T-Mobile, Olympus, and more. With a team of 50+ investment professionals in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, CPV manages more than 20 corporate venture capital funds.

Cerity Partners Ventures College is a remote 12-week unpaid externship program that will provide venture capital classes and hands-on experience for those interested in exploring a career path in venture capital.

The program will start in January 2027 and last approximately 12 weeks. CPV will accept up to 10 undergraduate students into the program’s cohort.

This externship is a part-time, unpaid program. The program is designed so that students will be able to participate while still meeting the obligations of their current college or university as a student. This is a fully remote opportunity.

The Cerity Partners Ventures College externship program will have two components:

1. Education

We will host weekly Zoom classes that will last one hour each and will teach students about fundamentals and best practices of venture capital, including how to evaluate potential venture capital investment opportunities.

Topics will include:

  • Venture Capital Strategy and Fund Formation
  • Deal Sourcing
  • Deal Evaluation
  • Due Diligence
  • Transacting
  • Portfolio Management
  • Exiting

2. Experience

Students will also have the ability to gain venture capital experience by working directly with investment professionals at Cerity Partners Ventures. Students will be assigned to conduct industry research, and to source and evaluate potential investment opportunities. At the end of the program, each student will present a summary of their experience and learnings to the team at CPV.

Practical experience to complete the externship is expected to require approximately five hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (junior/senior year preferred)
  • Superior work ethic, strong desire to learn, and uncompromising attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Impressive academic record
  • Ability to effectively manage a full academic workload and extracurricular responsibilities

Application Process:

The application deadline is November 30, 2026. We are using a rolling admissions process, and we will make final admission decisions by mid-December 2026.
