The CFO for the Capital Markets and Global Markets business will be responsible for directing the monthly financial reporting, analysis, and planning for a sophisticated set of products - loan syndications, bond and equity underwriting, M&A, interest rate derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities.  

This Senior Director level role also serves as the CFO of Citizens JMP Capital Markets, Inc (“CJMPS”, a commercial broker/dealer in which the M&A, bond, equity underwriting and brokerage functions reside and includes management of the accounting, regulatory reporting, capital management, and planning for that legal entity.  

In this role you will play a major role in the strategic planning and annual budget processes for these businesses while managing a staff of five professionals. 

Partner with strategy and COO teams to help drive right analytics around growth opportunities for the business. Drive incremental analysis to find opportunities for capital rotation and enhancing business returns long term.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing core finance leadership to direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance functions of the business line
  • Proactively guiding, challenging and influencing business leadership on developing and delivering their plans, including budgets, forecasts, strategic plans as well as transformative internal and cross-franchise projects
  • Producing materials and leading reviews to ensure key stakeholders within the business and across Finance are aware of performance against plan, proactively identifying opportunities to mitigate risks and capture opportunities
  • Partnering with strategy and COO teams to help drive right analytics around growth opportunities for the business. Drive incremental analysis to find opportunities for capital rotation and enhancing business returns long term.

  • Partner with Accounting to review revenue and expense recognition and oversee the annual external audit of CJMPS. 

 

Experience and Skills:

  • 10 years of work experience in a finance leadership role with desired experience from within the banking industry

  • Current management experience and experience leading teams

  • Financial Budgeting, Forecasting and Modeling experience – Subject Matter Expert of processes, tools and techniques, ability to monitor performance and explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

  • Finance, Accounting and Systems experience – Extensive experience in finance and accounting practices and financial analysis. With experience monitoring compliance with organizational standards for financial report writing.

  • Tactical and Strategic Planning experience – Experience with creating and implementing strategies for supporting current and future business needs.

  • Proven ability to communicate and present at leadership and executive leadership levels.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Current Series 27 license in good standing

 

Hours & Work Schedule

 

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F

 

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $220,000 - $330,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
