Change Lead

In this newly created role, Mercer Super is seeking an experienced Change Lead to be hands-on and deliver change management activities as part of the Mercer Super Change & Transformation Function.

Reporting to the Mercer Super Change & Transformation Leader, this role is responsible for leading change planning and delivery to enable successful adoption of a portfolio of initiatives (including regulatory, operational, technology and client/member-impacting change) and ensuring organisational readiness and sustainment of outcomes.

We will count on you to:

  • Apply Mercer’s Pacific Change frameworks, standards, templates and minimum deliverables to Mercer Super’s change portfolio to ensure consistent, high-quality change delivery.

  • Provide portfolio-level visibility of change activity, key impacts, risks, and delivery health; ensure change plans meet agreed standards and are fit-for-purpose.
  • Lead integrated change planning across concurrent initiatives, including dependency mapping, sequencing recommendations, and maintenance of a portfolio change calendar (releases, communications, learning, go-lives).
  • Assess and actively manage change collisions, change saturation, and business capacity constraints; provide pragmatic options and trade-offs to support prioritisation decisions.
  • Partner with PMO/Program and Project Leads to integrate change activities into delivery schedules, milestones, and governance, ensuring realistic timelines and resourcing for adoption.
  • For initiatives impacting Mercer Super teams, lead change impact assessments and determine change delivery approach and resourcing in conjunction with SME teams.
  • Define and run readiness activities and go/no-go decision support as required
  • In conjunction with the Change & Transformation Leader, deliver organisational change activities to enable Mercer Super’s Business Transformation.

What you need to have:

  • 8–12+ years’ experience in change management, including demonstrated experience leading change across multiple concurrent initiatives (portfolio environment).
  • Experience in financial services and/or superannuation strongly preferred, including operating within regulated and risk-focused environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering organisational change (ways of working, role/leader impacts, adoption and sustainment) with measurable outcomes.
  • Proven experience partnering with PMO/program/project teams to integrate change activities into delivery schedules, governance, and release readiness.
  • Proven ability to apply established change methodologies and toolsets pragmatically in complex environments.
  • Strong portfolio planning capability (dependency mapping, sequencing, change calendar management, capacity/change saturation analysis).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Advanced communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills
  • Strong capability in change impact assessment, readiness planning, go-live decision support, adoption measurement, and sustainment planning.
  • High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and risk awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively across the organisation in a fast-paced complex environment
  • Self-motivation with initiative, energy and drive to succeed.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for members, colleagues, clients, and communities.
