Who We Are:

Tenex is where builders, operators, and problem-solvers come together to help the world’s most ambitious companies tackle their toughest challenges. We work at the intersection of strategy and engineering — embedding dedicated teams directly into organizations to turn complex, high-stakes problems into real, measurable outcomes. We don’t do slide decks and hand-offs; we sit in the trenches alongside our clients and build.

We operate with the speed of a startup and the rigor of the best firms in the world. Our culture is built on intellectual curiosity, radical ownership, and a belief that exceptional work comes from diverse teams who are empowered to challenge assumptions, move fast, and hold each other to a higher standard. If you want to work on projects that actually matter, alongside people who make you better — Tenex is the place to do it.

The Role:

As the Chief of Staff, Partnerships at Tenex, you’ll partner directly with our cofounder on every major commercial decision—no layers, no bureaucracy, just real ownership and impact. You’ll operate at unmatched velocity, supporting a sales motion that closes more in a quarter than most teams see in a year. This is a build-from-scratch role: you’ll design and scale the commercial engine, shaping how we sell, forecast, and grow—rather than maintaining a playbook someone else wrote.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own Deals end-to-end – Drive the full deal lifecycle from qualification through close, including scoping engagements, building proposals, negotiating terms, and ensuring velocity stays high. You’re directly involved in every major commercial decision.

  • Run the Revenue Engine – Build and operate the systems that keep deals moving: CRM discipline, pipeline management, forecasting, and the weekly operating cadence that turns activity into closed revenue.

  • Build and Scale the Commercial Playbook – Capture what works and turn it into repeatable processes, templates, and tooling that allow Tenex to scale without sacrificing speed or quality.

  • Manage Strategic Partnerships – Own partner relationships end-to-end, driving co-selling motions, tracking commitments, and ensuring every partnership delivers measurable value.

  • Partner with Delivery Teams – Work closely with AI Strategists and Forward-Deployed Engineers to ensure clean handoffs from sales to delivery, aligned expectations, and successful client outcomes.

  • Own Commercial Intelligence & Insights – Track performance metrics, surface trends, and provide leadership with clear, actionable insights. Success means predictable growth, faster closes, and a commercial engine that runs smoothly as we scale.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Commercial Execution & Judgment – Demonstrated success in sales, consulting, or Chief of Staff–style roles, consistently driving high-quality outcomes in complex, fast-moving environments.

  • End-to-End Deal Leadership – Proven ability to scope, price, negotiate, and close deals, moving opportunities from first conversation to signed agreement.

  • Executive-Level Communication – Strong written and verbal skills, with a track record of influencing and aligning C-suite stakeholders.

  • Operational Excellence – Highly organized, able to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously while maintaining speed, accuracy, and follow-through.

  • Builder & Problem Solver – Identifies gaps, designs solutions, and puts structure in place to improve how the business operates and scales.

  • Results Under Ambiguity – Thrives without a playbook, moves quickly with sound commercial instincts, and delivers results in dynamic, high-growth environments.

We’ve Got You Covered:

  • Comprehensive medical coverage (PPO and HSA options), dental, and vision

  • HSA, Healthcare FSA, and Commuter Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid life insurance + AD&D

  • 100% employer-paid long-term disability insurance

  • Responsible PTO — take what you need

What we offer:

The base salary for this role is $100,000 - $180,000 annually, with opportunities for further upside tied directly to your output. When determining compensation, we consider job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Our workplace:

We prioritize in-person work and collaborate from our New York City office five days a week. We believe our best ideas come from working closely together. Being in the same space enables faster collaboration, real-time problem solving, and stronger relationships that elevate how we build and execute as a team.
