About the Role

We are looking to bring on a Chief of Staff to work with our COO, Caroline Friedman.

We need someone who can both operate at a strategic level—supporting board prep, investor updates, planning cycles, and OKRs—and dive deep into execution, from running SLT meetings and offsites to building scalable systems in Notion, coordinating hiring approvals, and driving key operational projects (like our NYC office buildout, expense policy, data room, etc).

The ideal candidate has experience with business strategy and operational planning, and is comfortable jumping into undefined areas—whether it’s helping us stand up new functions or stepping in to own projects during team coverage (e.g., a leader will be out on parental leave), or building the connective tissue across GTM, Product, Finance and Compliance.

We need someone who is proactive, organized, thrives in ambiguity, and is excited to make the business run better by filling gaps, driving clarity, and helping us move faster with strong coordination across functions.

This person will be reporting to Caroline and supporting operations. Eventually, this person could move into a business operations lead / head of role or join a function where they want to make more of a direct impact.

This roles is based in NYC.

90 Day Plan

Operating Cadence and Strategic Systems

  • Roll out a working OKR or strategic goals system, with visibility across teams and tracking for quarterly progress

  • Launch a company-wide decision log to track key strategic decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale over time

  • Maintain a fully operational leadership operating calendar and SLT forward planner, including known company milestones and external commitments

Internal Communications and Culture Infrastructure

  • Stand up a repeatable all-hands format including agenda themes, content flow, team member involvement, and post-meeting summaries

  • Own the mechanics of leadership meetings: pre-work distribution, doc prep, and follow-through

  • Partner with People Ops to improve internal communication, onboarding sequencing, and shared visibility into planning processes

Execution Follow-Through and Accountability

  • Coordinate leadership priority setting and lead tracking against deliverables from exec and company-wide forums (understand what each function is doing and help me stay on top of it all)

  • Manage follow-through on action items from board meetings, offsites, founder 1:1s, and strategy sessions

  • Reinforce OKR check-in rhythm and create easy workflows for status updates and accountability

Project Management and Business Operations

  • Run point on complex operational initiatives, examples include:

    • NYC office buildout (vendor coordination, cost tracking)

    • Internal expense policy rollout and documentation

    • Data room build: cleaned, permissioned, and ready for diligence

    • Insurance policy setup, renewals, and risk coverage assessment

    • Define and implement a hiring approval workflow in partnership with Talent and Finance

External Engagement Support

  • Help prioritize and manage inbound requests (external partners, speaking opportunities, investor asks)

  • Own first-draft creation and refinement for external-facing materials (updates, strategy decks, board prep)

  • Create and maintain a simple CRM-style tracker for high-value external relationships and follow-ups

Requirements:

We aren't listing specific requirements here, as we think a wide range of people could be successful in this position. If you read through the above and think you would thrive in this situation, please apply and let us know what specifically from your background you think gives you an edge.

We look forward to speaking with you.
