About us

Flipturn is accelerating EV adoption with software to better manage, optimize, and monetize EV charging. Our platform helps customers run their charging operations more smoothly, reduce energy costs, and collect payments from drivers—so they can maximize the ROI of their chargers and scale their EV programs faster. By 2030, EVs will represent more than 60% of vehicles sold globally, with many millions of charge points being deployed every year, representing an enormous market opportunity for Flipturn.

Flipturn is backed by top VC firms CRV and Accel, has raised over $15M, and works with numerous Fortune 500 companies across our customer base.

The role

We're hiring a Chief of Staff to report directly to the CEO and own a range of impactful and strategic projects necessary to scaling Flipturn's business. As Chief of Staff at Flipturn, you will get a birds-eye view on how a top startup grows and operates from the early stage.

This is the ideal role for a jack-of-all-trades candidate who is interested in tackling work ranging from finance, business development, internal operations, partnerships, international expansion, new markets, and more. This is a high ownership, high agency position that will involve working cross-functionally across all functions at Flipturn.

What you’ll work on

As Flipturn's Chief of Staff, projects might vary significantly by quarter, depending on the needs of the business. Here are some examples of projects that you might tackle:

  • Modeling Flipturn's 2026 financial plan: working with the CEO to update and maintain Flipturn's current financial model and revenue projections

  • Managing various financial reporting tasks and compliance: Managing reporting to various stakeholders and compliance with standards or regulations for the states and countries we operate in

  • Roaming: managing roaming partner relationships, which publish information about Flipturn's charging network to a wide variety of third party platforms

  • New country expansion: Research and understand the regulatory and market landscape of new countries Flipturn may expand into

  • Special projects: Taking ownership of one-off, high-priority projects that come up across the business, often working directly with leadership to plan, coordinate, and get things done

About you

We’re looking for someone excited to join a small but quickly moving climate tech startup in the EV charging space. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy:

  • Operating in a high agency, high trust environment

  • Tackling a wide variety of projects, which might involve learning many new skills and domains

  • Being part of a small, entrepreneurial team building new functions from scratch

  • Testing and iterating quickly to find what works

  • Taking a “ruthlessly results-oriented” approach

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in operations, finance, consulting, VC, or similar.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals

Benefits

  • Healthcare benefits. Top tier health, dental, and vision insurance coverage. 100% of employee premiums and 50% of dependent premiums are covered by us.

  • Equity benefits. All offers come with equity packages. Equity vests over four years, with a one year cliff.

  • NYC office in FiDi with lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Generous equipment and office furniture budget for all team members, including remote.

  • Quarterly team bonding with the full team, while still being remote friendly.

  • Unlimited time off with a culture of actually taking vacation.

  • 401(k) program
