We’re growing rapidly and are looking for change-makers passionate about delivering innovative technologies to solve the most challenging problems in the world’s highest stakes environments. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in meaningful work that strengthens national security and contributes to the success of U.S. and allied forces. Join us in shaping the future of defense logistics for a safer tomorrow.
We are seeking a highly driven, strategic, and resourceful operator to partner closely with our Chief Executive Officer as Tagup enters its next phase of scale and strategic expansion.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will act as a force multiplier—protecting and amplifying focus, driving cross-functional clarity, and ensuring disciplined execution across product, engineering, operations, and go-to-market efforts. This is a highly visible role at the center of the company, with direct exposure to executive decision-making, customer strategy, and investor engagement.
You will help translate vision into action—bringing structure to ambiguity, driving alignment across stakeholders, and ensuring that high-priority initiatives move with urgency and accountability. This role requires strong judgment, operational rigor, and comfort operating in defense and government-adjacent environments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the CEO’s trusted advisor and right hand, anticipating needs and driving high-leverage execution across the organization.
- Drive clarity and alignment across product, engineering, operations, and customer teams, ensuring priorities are clearly defined and consistently executed.
- Lead executive cadence with rigor, including leadership meetings, strategic offsites, planning cycles, and decision tracking.
- Translate strategy into clear initiatives with defined owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Own preparation and participation in high-stakes meetings with defense customers, partners, investors, and board members.
- Shape internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO, acting as a proxy when appropriate.
- Lead high-impact cross-functional initiatives, particularly those involving government customers, pricing strategy, product roadmap alignment, and operational scaling.
- Surface risks early, resolve cross-team friction, and unblock execution bottlenecks.
- Maintain strict discretion and operational security when handling sensitive or controlled information.
Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, investment banking, defense technology, or executive leadership support in a high-growth environment.
- Prior experience in top-tier management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain), investment banking, high-growth SaaS, or defense technology strongly preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical, operational, and financial information into clear executive-level insights.
- High emotional intelligence and executive presence; able to influence across functions and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in high-pressure, high-visibility environments with sound judgment.
- Strong understanding of government procurement, defense customers, or national security environments preferred.
- Proven integrity and discretion when handling confidential, sensitive, or export-controlled information.
- Ability to travel up to 25–40%, including customer and government sites as needed.
