POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chinese Liaison, part of the Admissions Department, is responsible in supporting all aspects of recruiting applicants for admissions to the New York Film Academy (NYFA), in accordance with state laws and accreditation regulations and consistent with the highest ethical standards, with particular emphasis on the Chinese market. The role involves communication with Chinese students, parents and agents in order to ensure they are full supported for admissions to the institution. The Chinese Liaison is familiar with all aspects of the admissions process and will need to be able to discuss, in general, topics such as financial aid, program requirements, policies, and other general admission questions; and will regularly conduct interviews and auditions to determine the prospective students eligibility. The Chinese Liaison serves as an advocate for current students.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITES:

Provides information and advising to students and families through phone, email, text, and face-to-face contact. Ensures engaging, positive, and personalized responses from team to students/families.

Provide an effective external and internal communication channel between students, parents and agents and the College, as well as liaison between other NYFA departments.

Liaison with offices and staff in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to ensure all enquires, including welfare, immigration, academic and parents/agents enquiries are responded to in a timely fashion; and support in covering for other territories required.

Tracks and maintains recurring contact with prospective and applied students accurately in database software.

Aim to ensure all issues are responded to within 24 hours with holding email if necessary and no email issue is left for longer than 48 hours with urgent issues prioritized accordingly; and ensureing external and internal clients are provided with clear and accurate responses to their enquiries.

Encompasses many tasks from translation, support for seminars, presentations and meetings, ensuring enquiries are correctly understood and followed up, providing feedback to and from college management and proactively managing all communications.

Work through To Do List in the database and aim to stay on top of workflow daily.

Manage, aid and assist prospective students (info requests: IR), by helping them through the initial admission process. Contact them via phone, text, and email.

Responsible for advising an IR on admissions requirements, providing general program information, all options at all campuses available to them and assisting them with the process to apply to NYFA.

Provide advice to prospective students with the highest level of customer service at all times.

Where appropriate and necessary, coordinate with an Enrollment Advisor of a prospective student to continue to assist with the admissions process.

Meet with and tour prospective students interested in applying. This is applicable to your own IRs as well as walk-ins and attendees of Open House and other events.

Learning and implementing the policies dictated on how to properly use our internal tracking system (File Maker) in order to successfully service potential students and communicate with support staff.

Inputs and maintains student information in the database

Develop and maintain knowledge of the industry, our programs, and our policies.

External expectations may include enrollment services, new student recruitment, community outreach, public information, and program specific promotional events.

Attend training sessions, read notice emails from management. Stay on top of updates to programs, locations and admissions requirements.

Attend Open Houses

Other duties may be required as requested by management.

Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes:
business telephone etiquette; computer operation/skills; and office methods and procedures standard office software. -
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

Fluent in English (essential) and Chinese (desirable)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in related filed.

1-2 years admissions recruitment or customer service experience.
-
Proven recruitment track record.

Experience working in a higher education academic setting

Valid passport & driver’s license required.
