Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated Civil / Highway Engineer to join our team in New York, New York or Latham, NY. This critical role demands exceptional technical skills and a commitment to excellence in engineering design and project execution.   Projects range from bridges & tunnels, highways & roads to aviation, freight rail and mass transit.

The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute specific and moderately complex components of broader engineering assignments with precision and attention to detail.
  • Systematically gather, analyze, and correlate essential engineering data using established and well-defined procedures to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
  • Undertake detailed engineering assignments involving complex calculations and sophisticated testing methodologies.
  • Develop innovative approaches to address novel engineering challenges by adapting standard procedures or methods refined through previous assignments.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by rigorously adhering to agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Autonomously perform all necessary tasks to complete primary design elements for engineering works, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS plus four years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • PE Certification or ability to obtain within a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Civil3D and/or OpenRoads.
  • Experience with NYSDOT and similar projects.
  • Experience in roadway and street design including horizontal and vertical alignments of roadways, Work Zone Traffic Control, ADA compliance, sustainable design and grading / drainage design.
