Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Pitch and Proposal Development
- Draft and prepare client-facing materials, including pitches and RFP responses
- Develop content for presentations, proposals, and other pitch materials tailored to client needs
- Track and evaluate pitch and proposal activity, following up with team members to document and share outcomes and best practices
Thought Leadership and Rankings
- Drafting and submission of content for legal directories, awards, and industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, etc.)
- Collaborate with PR and Marketing to promote the practice’s strengths internally and externally
- Organize, produce and track engagement on webcasts and other thought leadership initiatives in partnership with the Marketing Events team
Client and Market Intelligence
- Conduct competitive intelligence research on clients, prospective clients, competitor activities, and market trends
- Monitor new litigation filings, press reports, and developments involving clients and industry peers
- Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s practices, key clients, and competitors to inform client development strategies
Content and Collateral Management
- Maintain, update, and enhance practice-specific marketing materials, including lawyer biographies and matter descriptions
- Manage a suite of digital and print marketing materials to reflect practice strengths and recent achievements
- Support web content management, coordinating updates to case studies, events, and client communications
Events and Sponsorships
- In collaboration with the Events Team, coordinate aspects of litigation-hosted seminars, webinars, and networking events, including vendor coordination, invitations, and branding
- Work with co-sponsoring organizations on event details and logistics
- Manage the firm’s sponsorships and participation in industry conferences in alignment with client development goals
Database and CRM Maintenance
- Maintain and update databases that capture key practice group information, client profiles, and experience details
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system, supporting client development and marketing activities
Writing and Editorial Support
- Draft, proofread, and edit industry descriptions, attorney profiles, and tailored practice descriptions for specific opportunities
- Collaborate with attorneys, client development managers, and subject-matter experts to produce relevant, customized content
Other
- Perform any other duties as necessary and assigned for efficient functioning of the Department, Office, and Firm.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development or marketing, preferably within the legal or professional services sector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Conduct research and competitive intelligence projects that support client development initiatives
- Clearly demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills
- Demonstrate rigorous attention to process and detail, taking pride in work product
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritizing competing responsibilities under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Works collaboratively with teammates to drive the positive outcomes
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, and familiarity with digital marketing platforms is preferred
Additional Job Description
At the time of this posting, the salary range for this position in New York and Washington, D.C. is $95,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually. Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience and location of the position.
