Job Description

Everyone needs a place to start in technology. As AI changes how work gets done, we believe people starting out in tech and healthtech still need the same things: an opportunity, supportive mentors, and meaningful work to learn from. That's why we've created a new role at ALIS: a full-time, entry-level position at the intersection of account management and client support, designed to help you get your foot in the door and grow from there.

Here's what that looks like day to day. When a client calls with a question that goes beyond technical support, our support team will route that call to you, and you'll own the conversation through to resolution. Behind every call is an assisted living community caring for real people, so your work truly matters. You won't be figuring it out alone. You'll work alongside experienced account managers who want to see you succeed, and you'll learn client communication, project coordination, software configuration, and account management from the ground up.

You don't need a college degree to apply. What you do need is real comfort with technology, curiosity about how things work, and a genuine passion for helping people. If you're the one friends and family call when their tech acts up, if you pick up new apps and tools without needing a manual, and if you're excited to build a long-term career in technology, we'd love to hear from you.

The Basics

Location and schedule: Chicago-based, with in-office attendance required for the first 90 days. After 90 days, additional flexibility may be available upon meeting performance milestones. A regular in-office schedule of three days per week is required after meeting performance expectations.

Compensation: $41,600.00-$52,000.00

Sponsorship: We are not able to provide employment sponsorship, including OPT or STEM OPT.

How to apply: Please include a short paragraph about why you are interested in this role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take calls transferred from our support team when a client's question is better suited to account management, and see them through to resolution.

  • Work alongside experienced account managers and learn how we support and grow client relationships.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the ALIS platform and the assisted living communities we serve.

  • Shadow customer meetings and learn how account managers help clients solve problems and achieve their goals.

  • Own follow-up tasks and action items from customer meetings.

  • Configure ALIS application settings and support product-related account work.

  • Assist with client requests and help keep projects moving forward.

  • Build relationships with internal teams to ensure customers receive a great experience.

  • Maintain accurate customer information in HubSpot.

  • Support account management projects and operational initiatives.

  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes and create a better experience for both customers and teammates.

  • Take on increasing responsibility as your skills and confidence grow.

  • Build the product knowledge, client-facing experience, and business skills needed to advance within the organization.

Qualifications

You'll Thrive in This Role If You

  • You’re early in your career and looking to break into technology and/or healthtech.

  • Have internships, campus leadership, customer service, sales, or other experiences that demonstrate initiative and responsibility.

  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with follow-through.

  • Learn new software and tools quickly. HubSpot experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Communicate clearly, stay calm on the phone, and genuinely enjoy helping people.

  • Bring a positive, coachable attitude and welcome feedback.

  • Take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.

  • Are interested in building a long-term career in account management, customer success, or onboarding.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clients get fast, accurate answers when their questions fall between support and account management.

  • You become a trusted partner and reliable second set of hands for the account management team.

  • Customer requests and follow-up tasks move faster and more accurately because of your support.

  • You develop a strong understanding of the ALIS platform, our customers, and our business.

  • You consistently demonstrate initiative, accountability, and strong communication skills.

  • You take on increasing ownership and responsibility as your confidence grows.

  • You position yourself for future opportunities within Account Management, Customer Success, or Onboarding.
