Summary Description: The Youth ACT Team serves children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) throughout Westchester County, who are returning home from inpatient settings or residential services, at risk of entering such settings, or have not adequately engaged or responded to treatment in more traditional community-based services. Youth ACT team delivers intensive, highly coordinated, individualized services and skilled therapeutic interventions through an integrated, multi-disciplinary team approach to better achieve success and maintain the child in the home, school, and community. 

LCSW Required or LMSW close to receiving LCSW.  We provide weekly clinical supervision aimed at promoting the effective accumulation of clinical hours. This structured support is designed to enhance professional development and ensure a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices.

 After six months of employment, you may be eligible to receive a retention bonus of $5,000. 


Responsibilities: 

  • The Clinical Supervisor/Team Leader is a full-time staff member, who directs and supervises staff activities, leads team organizational and service planning meetings, provides clinical direction to staff regarding individual cases, conducts side by side contacts with staff and regularly conducts individual supervision meetings.  
  • The Team Leader is responsible for direct client services as a member of the professional staff and will provide clinical services to a small caseload. 
  • Direct services include person-centered treatment, services that promote recovery, staff supervision as well as overall management of the program.  
  • Indirect responsibilities include representing the program at meetings in the community. 
  •  The Team Leader will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making and collaboration.  When possible, the Team Leader will utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.

 Competencies:  

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must complete the CANS-NY Training, be certified to use the CANS-NY, and maintain annual certification. 
  • Use of Motivational interviewing, recovery, and trauma-informed approaches when delivering services. 
  • Proficient in computers. 
  • Effective crisis intervention skills. 
  • Effective leadership and problem-solving skills  
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated. 
  • Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system. 
  • Effective management practices:   
    1.  address interpersonal barriers and strengths in his/her staff   
    2.  empower those receiving supervision   
    3.  offer criticism in a constructive manner   
    4.  understand employment and labor laws   

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):  

  • Effective program oversight and smooth day-to-day operations, including supervision of staff on the team. 
  • Ensures program enrollment consistently meets target caseload capacity. 
  • Monitors productivity standards. 
  • Upholds fidelity to the Youth ACT model. 
  • Timely and accurate reporting, both internally and externally to OMH. 
  • Timely and accurate documentation of client progress and incidents. 
  • Timely and accurate billing. 
  • Implementation of quality improvement measures. 

 

Requirements: 

  • The Team Leader shall be an experienced mental health professional with an LCSW, a Licensed Psychologist, or a LMSW close to receiving a LCSW. 
  • The Team Leader must have at least 2 years’ experience in supervisory level positions. 
  • The Team Leader must demonstrate positive leadership, a deep belief in recovery and self-determination, flexibility, patience, and effective written and verbal communication skills.   
  • It is expected that the Team Leader will be able to perform their duties with minimal supervision and consistently use good judgment.   
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office, spreadsheets and database management are required.   
  • Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.   
  • The Team Leader must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier. 
  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required.    
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.  
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).  

Special Considerations

  • Hours per week, reporting structure, and location are subject to change per program needs.

This is a Mandated Reporter position.  The NYS Justice Center legislation defines anyone who has regular and substantial contact with any person with special needs as a “custodian” under the law and, therefore, a mandated reporter.  You can be held liable by both the civil and criminal legal systems for intentionally failing to make a report.
