Compensation: $120,000–$180,000 USD base salary (depending on experience), plus equity and full benefits

About the Client
Our client is a fast-growing SaaS company providing a powerful AI-driven platform used by large enterprises to enhance decision-making in the commodity and supply chain industries. Their technology leverages cutting-edge simulation, optimization, and forecasting techniques—already embedded in mission-critical workflows across key sectors.

As their exclusive recruitment partner, we’re seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer (Cloud/DevOps) to support and scale their infrastructure in a mission-critical, production-grade environment.

Role Overview
As a Systems Engineer, you'll design, maintain, and enhance a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environment that powers the company’s SaaS platform. You’ll work cross-functionally to improve system performance, ensure uptime, and contribute to infrastructure automation and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. AWS Infrastructure Management

  • Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure components (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, Cognito, etc.)

  • Design for high availability and scalability using immutable infrastructure principles

2. Containerization & Orchestration

  • Maintain Docker-based environments

  • Implement secure and efficient container orchestration practices

3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and CDK for Terraform (cdktf)

  • Ensure reproducible, version-controlled, and testable infrastructure deployments

4. Linux Systems Administration

  • Maintain Linux image build pipelines

  • Harden OS configurations and improve observability tools

5. Database & Caching Systems

  • Manage PostgreSQL (RDS), Redis (ElastiCache/Valkey), and MongoDB

  • Optimize performance, backup, and recovery strategies

6. Observability

  • Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting across systems (metrics, logs, traces)

  • Implement self-healing and performance optimization mechanisms

7. Security & Compliance

  • Apply best practices in cloud security (IAM, encryption, audit trails)

  • Support compliance efforts (e.g., SOC 2 Type II) with documentation and fieldwork

8. Automation & CI/CD

  • Create automation scripts using Python and shell scripting

  • Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines

9. Technical Documentation

  • Document infrastructure architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures

  • Maintain up-to-date runbooks and ensure knowledge sharing across the team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps or Systems Engineer in cloud-native environments

  • Strong command of AWS, Docker, Linux, Python, Terraform, CDK, and shell scripting

  • Deep experience with PostgreSQL, Redis/Key-value stores, and MongoDB

  • Exposure to HPC or distributed computing frameworks is a strong plus

  • Experience in observability (monitoring, tracing, alerting) in production environments

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills

  • AWS certifications are a plus

  • Background in statistical computing or high-level mathematics is a bonus

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and location

  • Equity in a fast-growing, venture-backed company

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Unlimited PTO and flexible remote-first work culture

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly scaling SaaS company that is reshaping how critical industry decisions are made. If you’re passionate about DevOps, infrastructure as code, and building resilient systems, we’d love to hear from you.
