The Cloud Solutions Engineer II supports Humana Military’s adoption and use of enterprise cloud capabilities by acting as a technical liaison, solution advisor, and contributing engineer. This role works closely with Humana Military IT and application teams, Humana Enterprise Cloud Platform and Infrastructure teams, and HMIT Compliance.
The engineer brings strong knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities and helps design and implement cloud solutions that align with enterprise standards while meeting TRICARE and VA Community Care Network (VA CCN) technical requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
15% Serve as a liaison between Humana Military IT teams and Humana Enterprise Cloud Platform and Infrastructure teams
75% Design and help implement cloud solutions in Azure and GCP aligned to enterprise patterns and controls
10% Partner with HMIT Compliance to interpret technical controls and support compliant designs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
2–4 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
Hands-on experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, and computer services
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical and regulatory requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of cloud service capabilities and architectures within Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Ability to design and implement cloud solutions using enterprise-approved services, patterns, and guardrails.
Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) knowledge with hands-on experience using Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) SDKs.
Knowledge of cloud networking, identity, access management, and security principles
Ability to provide hands-on engineering support for application teams during cloud adoption or transition efforts
Knowledge of technical requirements associated with regulated environments, including TRICARE and VA Community Care Network (VA CCN)
Ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into practical technical design guidance
Skill in consulting with applications, infrastructure, and IT teams to assess needs and recommend cloud-based solutions
Ability to work effectively as a liaison between Humana Military teams and Enterprise Cloud, Architecture, Security, and Compliance teams
Skill in identifying technical risks, constraints, or gaps early in the design process and recommending mitigation options
Ability to exercise sound technical judgment while operating within enterprise standards and regulatory constraints
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or government
Experience collaborating with compliance, risk, or security teams
Work-At-Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.Scheduled Weekly Hours

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
