  • Provide Compliance Program Oversight: Oversee and challenge the execution of compliance activities by the First Line of Defense (business teams) related to risk assessments, controls and monitoring.

  • Design and Execute Second Line of Defense Testing related to regulatory requirements.

  • Strategy & Reporting: Prepare and deliver high-quality compliance reporting to senior stakeholders, including supporting quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and Compliance/Risk Committees for North America legal entities.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compliance professionals, serving as a senior leader for North America compliance oversight internally and externally to regulators and auditors.

  • Technology & Automation: Lead automation efforts and enhanced usage of data and analytics to drive thought leadership and make compliance activities more efficient and effective across the region.

  • Advisory: Provide expert advice and guidance to regional and global teams (Product, Legal, Operations) on North America regulatory requirements (state and federal law).

The experience, background and competencies needed to succeed in this role.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Second Line of Defense compliance or operational risk management within financial services (bank or fintech).

  • Expert-level knowledge of US federal regulatory expectations related to compliance programs, with knowledge of related state and Canada regulations.

  • Demonstrable experience designing, transforming, and building compliance and/or risk management processes, specifically including:

  • Risk Taxonomies and Compliance Risk Assessments.

  • Obligation and Control Mapping.

  • Compliance Monitoring and Testing programs.

  • Regulatory Inventory and Regulatory Change Management processes.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing technology, automation, and analytics to enhance compliance effectiveness.

  • Strong ability to lead a team, collaborate effectively with global/cross-functional stakeholders (including Board members), and represent the company to external parties (regulators/auditors).

Must be willing to work on-site in NYC and be legally authorized to work in the US (Visa sponsorship is not available).
