 Responsible for providing support to the Sales Consultants and Regional Sales Managers for bank wide Treasury Management sales' efforts to deepen and expand customer relationships and activities that enhance revenue generation.  In this role, the Sales Associate will assist the assigned team with call preparation, pricing, implementation, and sales related service requests for treasury management products.  This is a customer contact role – the associate will communicate directly with customers to assist in the sales process and will attend customer calls as appropriate.  The associate will be expected to have a beginning understanding of CPLS products and M&T systems and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist Sales Consultants with requests of basic CPLS products from initiation to close.  Tracks and measures implementation progress to completion.
  • Assist Sales Consultants with pre-call research for large client opportunities.
  • Assist with the developing of proposals, preparing/printing marketing materials and preparing post-sale call follow-up documentation.
  • May attend sales calls and meetings with Sales Consultants and Relationship Managers to gain knowledge around sales process and insight into client relationships and/or help with the client onboarding needs, ensure proper servicing of accounts and to help expand existing relationship.
  • Identify sales leads based on client interactions and requests which come in via the client, Relationship Manager, Commercial Service Team, etc. Work with the clients directly to understand their services needs so to cross sell and refer to Sales Consultants for the more complex services
  • Follow up with customers for requests to add existing services to new accounts and/or new services to accounts and after services have been completed.
  • Assist with creating pricing models for existing relationships and include any pricing adjustments at the line-item level based on feedback from the Sales Consultant or Relationship Manager.  Sales Consultants are responsible for review and ensuring information is accurate.
  • Assist with annual relationship reviews: printing analysis statements, review for billing/pricing errors or any other inconsistences, create a visual account structure for client review and provide a detailed listing of current services and associated user permissions the client has in place
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional customer in instances where overall profitability is high but potential for new sales may be limited while Sales Consultants are calling and working outside the office.
  • Keep Sales Consultant involved of an issue that may arise to help with resolution.
  • Delivers a high level of customer service to clients and internal business partners, coordinate training requests, troubleshoot products and respond to general needs.
  • Beginning to understand all products, how to position services to clients, gain knowledge of how to partner with Sales Consultant and Operational partners and how to interface in highly effective ways with the client/prospect so that Sales Associates may become bench strength for open Sales Consultant positions.
  • Keep up to date on the Bank’s policies and procedures and adhere to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $43.34 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
