THE ROLE - READ THIS CAREFULLY:

This is NOT a role where you execute someone else's playbook.

We need someone who can:

Look at our platform (content, events, audience, social channels)

Identify sponsorship opportunities we haven't thought of

Design custom packages with pricing

Sell them to fishing/outdoor brands

You brainstorm and design. We implement.

Example:

You say: "Your tournament could be a $15K title sponsorship with X, Y, Z benefits"

We do: Execute the marketing, run the event, deliver on promises

You're the architect. We're the builders.

COMPENSATION:

40% commission on all sales

100% commission-based (no base salary)

Year 1 potential: $50K-$100K+

Example: $200K in sales = $80K income

No cap on earnings

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Must Have:

3+ years B2B sales (closing $10K+ deals)

Track record closing $50K+ deals

Creative thinker who can identify opportunities from scratch

Self-starter who doesn't need hand-holding

Comfortable with commission-only

Highly Preferred:

Experience designing sponsorship packages (not just selling pre-built ones)

Fishing/outdoor/marine industry relationships

Personal passion for fishing

The Right Person:

Sees our assets and thinks "how can we monetize this?"

Gets excited about building something new

Can translate ideas into sellable packages with clear ROI

TARGET SPONSORS:

Fishing Industry (50%): Boat brands, tackle companies, marine electronics, engines, tackle shops

Local/Regional (40%): Cape Cod tourism, hotels, restaurants, marinas, boat dealers

Lifestyle/Outdoor (10%): Outdoor apparel, coolers, sunglasses, trucks, insurance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy (40%):

Audit our platform and identify sponsorship opportunities

Design packages at various price points

Create custom proposals for specific sponsors

Price based on market rates and value

Sales (60%):

Identify and research potential sponsors

Cold calling, email, LinkedIn outreach

Conduct pitch meetings (virtual and in-person)

Negotiate and close deals

Manage sponsor relationships

TIMELINE:

Month 1: Learn our platform, design initial packages

Month 2-3: Begin outreach and pitching

Month 3-4: First deals closing

Month 6+: $10K-30K monthly in new commitments

Year 1 goal: $100K in closed sponsorships

Any fishing/outdoor industry relationships

Why you're comfortable with commission-only

2-3 creative sponsorship ideas for our platform

The cover letter is critical—we want to see how you think.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

Phone screening (15-20 min)

Video interview (45-60 min)

Creative exercise - present 3-5 sponsorship package ideas with pricing

Final conversation and reference checks

Established platform with 1,500+ paying members

True creative freedom - you design the program

We handle all implementation

40% commission - higher than industry standard

FAQ:

Q: What if I design something you can't deliver?

A: We'll be transparent about capabilities. You'll understand what we can execute, and we're willing to create new things. We collaborate to ensure promises are deliverable.
