The Team:
As Communications Associate, you’ll be a key member of our strategic Communications & Marketing team, executing on internal and external messaging to all audiences, particularly to the financial press and media, prospects, clients and partners. You will be a key part of creating a vast amount of content, from official press releases to blog posts to internal messaging documents supporting the Company’s top executives, and you will be the liaison between Clear Street and our external agencies.
The team’s goal is to tell the Clear Street story to drive market share, client trust and brand equity amongst a premier peer set. The team is composed of a small group of professionals who work collaboratively and creatively to tell stories about Clear Street’s seat at the intersection of finance and technology.
The Role:
The Communications Associate is a key member of the Clear Street marketing and communications team and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer. This role allows for writing and project management responsibilities so that we proactively tell the Clear Street story and enhance the value of the Clear Street brand over time. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from senior executives with veteran status in high profile strategic communications, finance and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Project management: A successful Communications Associate will be dynamic and confident in a fast-paced environment, with strong project management skills. Projects to be managed include:
- Press Release Pipeline (spreadsheets managing timelines, drafting releases)
- New product launch-specific communications (press releases, website updates, email and social content)
- Media-facing preparation (Executive Q&A prep docs, speaking points)
- Thought leadership (creating/ideating, drafting content and ultimately co-authoring)
- Website content
- Support the team: the Communications Associate will proactively take on responsibilities with a can-do attitude and an eagerness to learn and grow.
- Content Creation: Draft and manage the approval process of most content, particularly press releases, briefing books, executive Q&A documents, executive scripts for interviews and live content, one pagers and social media, for example.
- External agency management: Liaise with external agencies, including running the weekly "to do" meetings, strategy sessions and organizing/updating monthly and quarterly measurement and reporting.
- Media strategy: Work with the CMO and external agencies to effectively reach select media around key announcements, as part of a broader strategic plan.
- Work on a highly strategic communications team founded with a deep understanding of the capital markets, where all communications are approached with the long term value of the enterprise in mind.
- Learn the specialty areas within Clear Street, such as securities finance and prime brokerage, investment banking, engineering, sales, etc. Develop materials and collateral to support external communications for specialty areas, including fact sheets, one-pagers, and email templates

- Aid in internal communications as appropriate, including company-wide town halls, internal educational events, employee news, and cross-team product and development updates
- Provide mentorship to other team members when appropriate; strong comms/marketing fundamentals are a must
Requirements:
- You have at least 3 years of experience in public relations, preferably at an agency focused on high-growth corporates and/or the B2B environment
- Excellent writing skills
- Stellar project management and planning skills
- Enthusiasm to pursue a career that you care about, rooted in learning corporate strategy, media strategy and communication specialties specific to the capital markets
- A talent for storytelling and the ability to distill complex ideas into digestible, easy-to-follow narratives
- plus: An understanding of the financial services industry and experience working with brokerages, banks, and other financial institutions
- Huge plus: Experience in an investment banking analyst class or sell side research track

The Base Salary Range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
