Your Role

Gensler is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as a Communications Coordinator in the New York office. The Communications Coordinator will help with content development and tracking, award submissions, social media, events, and media relations support. The ideal candidate has a passion for design, strong writing skills, and a team-player attitude. They will work to support a range of activities designed to amplify Gensler’s people, brand, reputation, and thought leadership.

What You Will Do

Content Development and Support

  • Support NE Communications Manager in developing communications collateral including project case story narratives, website content, press materials, and thought leadership, tracking development progress for cross-team transparency

  • Support regional PR team in tracking and reporting external impact though media and industry partners

  • Support special projects as needed

Awards & Surveys 

  • Prepare and submit award submissions as assigned

  • Assist with local and firmwide awards and ranking programs

  • Work with Communications Manager to maintain local award calendar and deadlines

  • Support regional PR team in tracking and reporting external awards and impact

Events and Speaking Engagements

  • Work collaboratively with the PR and office support teams on hosted events in the New York office as assigned

  • Support PR team on speaker submissions, presentation content development, and talking points as needed

  • Support regional PR team in tracking and reporting external events and impact

Social Media 

  • Develop strategy and content for Gensler New York’s Instagram account

  • Support executives with LinkedIn content and strategy as needed

  • Adapt firmwide content for local channels and leaders

  • Support with graphics and development for local campaigns 

  • Create innovative and compelling ideas for social media channels around projects, people, awards, announcements, and initiatives

  • Track results and impact

Your Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, media, communications, or marketing, preferably in the AEC industry

  • Strong writing, editing, grammar, and interpersonal skills

  • Graphic design and video filming/editing skills are highly desirable but not required

  • Self-motivator with strong organizational skills to coordinate and pro-actively manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ability to work with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment, and problem-solve where necessary

  • Professional demeanor and a friendly, flexible, proactive team player

  • Proficiency in InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

**The base salary range will be estimated between $72,500 - $80,000. Gensler’s total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June.
