Job Description:

Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Communications Director will own IAS’s U.S. communications strategy and lead executive communications for our senior leadership team. You will shape how IAS shows up with influential U.S. media, at industry events, and across executive channels, translating our business priorities into compelling stories and a consistent communications cadence.

Working closely with our U.S. PR agency, Integrated Marketing team, and global communications leads, you will connect media relations, thought leadership, partner announcements, speaking engagements, and content into coordinated campaigns. You will bring both strategic judgment and strong writing skills, advising leaders on where to show up, what to say, and how to make each opportunity count.

You will also help maintain a consistent corporate narrative across internal and external communications, partner on crisis response, and ensure employees understand our direction and strategic priorities.

What you’ll get to do:

Own U.S. communications strategy and media relations

  • Develop and execute IAS’s U.S. communications strategy, setting priorities across corporate storytelling, media relations, thought leadership, bylines, and partner announcements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key U.S. journalists, editors, and influential industry voices across business, technology, advertising, and marketing media.
  • Direct our U.S. PR agency’s strategy and execution, establishing clear objectives, a proactive editorial pipeline, and accountability for results.
  • Identify timely stories and distinctive points of view that connect IAS’s expertise to the issues shaping our customers and industry.
  • Coordinate announcements with internal stakeholders and partner communications teams, aligning messaging, timing, and execution.

Lead executive communications and visibility

  • Own executive communications for IAS’s senior leadership team, tailoring messaging and opportunities to each leader’s expertise and voice.
  • Serve as a close communications adviser to the CEO, prioritizing and preparing her for Tier 1 media interviews, prominent speaking engagements, and other high-profile opportunities.
  • Develop and execute the CEO’s LinkedIn strategy, building a distinctive presence through original perspectives, company milestones, and meaningful engagement.
  • Write and refine executive narratives, speeches, presentations, talking points, bylines, and briefing materials.

Build speaking opportunities into broader campaigns

  • Develop IAS’s speaker bench, identifying relevant opportunities and matching executives and subject matter experts to the right audiences and topics.
  • Prepare speakers through tailored messaging, briefing documents, presentation development, rehearsals, and anticipated questions.
  • Partner closely with Integrated Marketing to build content and campaigns around speaking engagements and events, extending their value before, during, and after each moment.

Connect the global narrative and communications cadence

  • Partner with global communications leads to ground regional activity in a consistent corporate narrative while reflecting local audiences and priorities.
  • Play a leading role in setting IAS’s communications cadence, making decisions on story selection, sequencing, executive participation, and channel strategy.
  • Connect announcements, thought leadership, executive visibility, and internal updates into a steady drumbeat that reinforces IAS’s strategy.
  • Support internal communications that help employees understand our corporate narrative, business direction, and strategic priorities.
  • Support board presentations and leadership materials as needed, helping build a clear and consistent strategic story.
  • Partner with global communications colleagues, Legal, and business leaders on crisis and issues communications, including response planning, messaging, and executive counsel.
  • Support communications around corporate change and M&A activity as needed.
You should apply if you have most of these:
  • Proven experience owning U.S. communications strategy, with strong relationships across relevant business, technology, and industry media.
  • A track record of securing meaningful Tier 1 coverage and developing thought leadership that offers a clear, credible point of view.
  • Demonstrated experience advising C-suite leaders and delivering executive communications, including speeches, media preparation, and LinkedIn content.
  • Experience managing a PR agency with clear priorities, constructive feedback, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling stories and preserve individual executive voices.
  • Experience identifying speaking opportunities, developing a speaker bench, and preparing leaders for interviews, keynotes, and panels.
  • An understanding of how communications, content, events, and integrated marketing work together to support broader campaigns.
  • Experience collaborating across regions to maintain a consistent corporate narrative.
  • Sound judgment in sensitive situations, including crisis, issues, and change communications; M&A experience is a plus.
  • Experience in B2B technology, SaaS, corporate communications, or an agency environment. Ad tech experience is welcomed but not required.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to move between strategic counsel and hands-on execution.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
