POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst II to support client engagements on a 1099 contract basis. In this role, you will lead market pricing and benchmarking activities, contribute to compensation program design and analysis, and deliver credible, data-driven recommendations. This is a project-based engagement requiring a professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate compensation insights clearly to HR and business stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct job evaluations and market pricing analyses using major compensation survey platforms

• Benchmark roles across functions and levels against external market data to inform pay decisions

• Develop and maintain salary structures, pay ranges, and job hierarchies

• Analyze internal pay equity and identify trends, anomalies, or areas requiring attention

• Support compensation review cycles including merit, bonus, and off-cycle adjustments

• Prepare compensation recommendations and present findings to HR Business Partners and leadership

• Respond to ad hoc compensation requests and provide guidance on offer recommendations

• Maintain documentation of job profiles, comp guidelines, and benchmarking methodologies

• Partner with livingHR Principals and client stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes

• Track billable work and maintain accurate project documentation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in at least one major compensation survey platform (Radford/Aon, Mercer, WTW, or similar) is required

• 3–5+ years of compensation experience with demonstrated expertise in market pricing and benchmarking

• Strong Excel skills — comfortable with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data modeling

• Solid understanding of job architecture, pay structures, and FLSA classification

• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, project-based consulting environment

• Strong advisory, stakeholder management, and communication skills

• Experience working in consulting, professional services, or multi-client environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or other relevant HR certification

• Experience supporting pay equity analyses and total rewards program design

• Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday, UKG, Paylocity, or similar)

• Experience with PE-backed, high-growth, or multi-state organizations

• Willingness to travel occasionally as client needs require
