The Consumer Compliance Specialist provides daily operational support for Apple Bank’s Consumer Compliance Team by performing a variety of tasks. This role involves analyzing HMDA-reportable loans and applications across all business lines in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Specialist is also responsible for updating HMDA procedures as necessary when there are changes in policy, systems, or regulations. Additionally, the Consumer Compliance Specialist will assist the Consumer Compliance Team with various activities, including the consumer complaint response program, testing/monitoring of relevant consumer compliance regulations, and conducting onsite compliance branch reviews.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure quarterly HMDA data is complete and accurate in preparation for annual filing.
- Assist in preparation of HMDA Committee materials and committee minutes.
- Work with the appropriate Branch/District Manager or corporate staff member to obtain relevant information on incoming complaint.
- Participate in additional team projects as needed (e.g., testing and monitoring activities, collaborating with business line colleagues for new products and services development, etc.).
- Assist in obtaining and organizing materials to satisfy regulatory and/or internal audit requests.
- Assist in preparation for quarterly regulatory monitoring calls, as well as federal and state regulatory examinations.
- Respond to retail branches regarding questions relative to consumer compliance law reports and data collection.
- Attend management meetings as requested by the Consumer Compliance Officer to address consumer compliance issues.
- Stay abreast of new laws, regulations, and regulatory focus that will enhance job performance through continuing education.
- Perform other duties as requested.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations and/or retail banking helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal + written) skills.
- Strong data entry and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
