About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements

The Content Quality Director, Travel + Leisure, is responsible for overseeing the copy flow and quality across all key pillars of the brand: 11 print issues a year; events collateral; tentpoles; strategic marketing decks; and strategic scripts across platform and for events. This deadline-driven, nimble candidate should have deep experience reading, proofreading, and monitoring the flow of copy to ensure that production cycles are completed in a timely manner. Familiarity with fact-checking, as well as managing people and budgeting, is also required.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York) 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions:

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

  • 20%:  Work with EIC and the editorial team to ship and produce 11 magazines a year. Work with EIC on routing and workflow processes.

  • 20%:  Manage copy and research flow.

  • 20%:  Read and proof all events collateral to maintain brand standards.

  • 20%:  Oversee copy flow for tentpoles (World’s Best, America’s Best Small Towns, It List).

  • 10%:  Lead team meetings.

  • 10%:  Oversee freelance budget. Manage freelancers and editorial staff as needed

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

  • 10-15+ years of experience working across print and digital at an editorial entity, preferably in travel, lifestyle, or luxury content.

  • Experience managing a brand team of copy and research editors

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Woodwing, AirTable, CMS systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work quickly and thoughtfully in a high-output environment.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
