Normal Computing | Incredible Opportunities

The Normal Team builds foundational software and hardware that help move technology forward - supporting the semiconductor industry, critical AI infrastructure, and the broader systems that power our world. We work as one team across New York, San Francisco, Copenhagen, and London.
Your Role in Our Mission:
We're looking for a Content Strategist to join our Communications team as the first central writing resource at Normal. In this cross-functional role, you'll communicate our products and mission internally and externally. It's an opportunity to embed deeply in a highly technical environment and shape how we tell the story of a new computing paradigm.

The position blends the clarity of a technical writer with the narrative instincts of a content strategist. You're a strong writer and editor who can move from drafting a scientific white paper to polishing a product launch blog post. You excel at synthesizing input from multiple sources into clear, "shippable" content, and you make thoughtful recommendations to elevate ideas and drafts. You'll partner with engineers, researchers, and product managers on technical articles and talks, and work with business leaders to frame their most important messages. You'll also translate complex technical concepts into accessible narratives for customers, partners, and the broader market.

Teams at Normal operate with a high degree of autonomy. You'll identify content needs and set your own priorities, balancing the big-picture story with attention to technical accuracy and wording. On any given day, you might edit a guide drafted by an engineer, write an explainer about a research breakthrough, create a conference deck, or fill a gap in the content library. Across all of it, you'll bring cohesion and polish to how Normal communicates with the world.
Responsibilities:

  • Craft external content: Create high-quality content for external audiences – including website copy, thought leadership blog posts, case studies, social media posts, press releases, video scripts, and more, that showcases Normal’s mission, products, and impact.

  • Develop technical narratives: Produce deep-dive technical content such as whitepapers, product briefs, and technical explainers by collaborating with engineers and researchers. Translate Normal’s innovations in areas like thermodynamic computing and advanced semiconductor design automation (EDA) into clear, accessible narratives for both technical and business decision-maker audiences.

  • Support external engagements: Prepare and refine content for high-profile events and presentations. This includes crafting keynote speeches, slide decks, and talking points for conferences, executive briefings, and partner meetings, where audiences range from Fortune 500 CEOs and government leaders to industry experts and investors.

  • Drive integrated campaigns: Coordinate content for marketing campaigns by working with cross-functional internal teams (Product, Engineering, GTM, etc.) and managing external partners (PR agencies, designers, contractors). Ensure all campaign content aligns to a cohesive message and is delivered on schedule.

  • Elevate internal communications: Produce clear and engaging internal communications (e.g. company-wide emails, internal newsletters, team updates) that keep our global team informed and aligned with our vision and key initiatives.

  • Editorial oversight: Review, edit, and polish written material created by others to maintain a high standard of quality and consistency. Serve as a go-to editorial resource to ensure everything we publish reflects a unified voice and brand style.

  • Content innovation: Proactively identify content gaps or new opportunities. Propose and execute new content initiatives (for example, a thematic blog series) that support our marketing and communication objectives and showcase Normal’s thought leadership.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in communications, content strategy, technical writing, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Exceptional writing ability: Outstanding writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content tailored to different audiences.

  • Technical acumen & curiosity: Ability to rapidly learn new domains and technologies – our work spans areas like semiconductor hardware, thermodynamic computing, and electronic design automation – and to work closely with technical experts to ensure content accuracy and depth.

  • Versatility: Flexibility to adapt your writing style and tone for different formats and audiences, from in-depth technical documentation to high-level marketing copy, without losing clarity or quality.

  • Attention to detail: Meticulous eye for detail and commitment to accuracy, coupled with strong judgment in handling confidential or sensitive information.

  • Tool proficiency: Comfort with modern content creation and collaboration tools. You can quickly pick up new software and workflows – whether it’s Google Docs and Figma for writing and design, project trackers like Linear, or various web and social media publishing platforms.

  • Travel readiness: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for team meetings, industry conferences, and client engagements as needed.
