Creative Producer (Freelance)
Away is looking for a fearless, proactive, and highly organized individual to join as a Producer on our creative team on a freelance basis. The Creative Producer will oversee all photo and video production, identify and manage external vendors and creative freelancers, and manage production budgets. The Creative Producer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across multiple teams. This role, based out of our headquarters in NoHo, New York City, will manage an in-house production assistant and will report to our VP of Creative Strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all aspects of photo and video production from pre to post—including budget and timeline management, vendor organization, contract negotiations, on-set production and more
- Strategically identify what resources are needed for each production—such as photographers, set designers, external production teams, etc—and collaborate with the Creative team and other key stakeholders to bring on the right partners to ensure a seamless and error-free production
- Responsible for efficient communication between business owners and all project stakeholders—including internal team and external vendors
- Work closely with project managers to keep all production aspects of creative projects on time, within budget and executed up to brand standards.
- Manage day-to-day escalations and troubleshooting of production challenges
- Travel as needed for specific shoots and production-related responsibilities
Who You Are:
- 4-6 years of directly relevant experience; ideally at an agency or e-commerce company
- Personable and communicative, with the ability to explain complicated initiatives to both creatives and business owners
- Highly organized and experienced in managing large complex projects with multiple stakeholders and creative outputs
- You have a robust network of external vendors and freelancers—including production companies, photographers, videographers and more
- Exceptional planning skills with a natural ability to hold yourself accountable to timelines and budgets
- A strategic thinker who can translate creative concepts into reality
- Love to travel (but that's a given)
