Senior Technical Writer, Documentation

About the Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join our remote-first team to help empower developers building with Hiro’s developer tools. This role will be critical in the production of high-quality content for the Hiro documentation.
As our first technical content writer, you will join the Developer Growth team and work closely with our Documentation Lead.
What You’ll Do
- Write, review, edit, & organize new and existing developer-centered documentation, tutorials, and code samples
- Facilitate the developer learning journey by building educational content (e.g. tutorials, quick-start guides)
- Distill complex, technical topics and turn them into easy to understand documentation
- Continuously working to make documentation, tools used, and the processes effective, efficient, and automated
- Test-drive Hiro’s products and its features to empathize with developers' needs, challenges, and the onboarding experiences
- Work with product and engineers to ensure the product documentation is technically accurate and aligns with documentation needs and priorities
- Work with engineers to gain in-depth understanding of protocol and product intricacies
- Work with design on concise and helpful illustrations
- Taking ownership of the documentation strategy and collaborating closely with the internal docs and product growth teams
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience with technical writing and editing, in particular with developer documentation
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to understand source-code by reading it
- Experience with a docs-as-code workflow, including OpenAPI/Swagger, Markdown, git, and GitHub
- Experience building, testing, and automating RESTful API documentation
- Experience in the crypto/blockchain space or a deep curiosity of the landscape
- Bonus, but not required: hands on coding experience with a programming language like JavaScript
