Contract Administrator Job Description

Beast Code is looking for a Contract Administrator II to join our team as an adept partner with a nose for numbers and an eye for detail to assist with our contracts, subcontracts, and proposals.

As a Contract Administrator II, you will operate at the intersection of business, and operational teams across the contract lifecycle(s). Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll support our Contracts team and partner cross-functionally across our Business Administration Department. You will collaborate closely with agile software development teams, Finance, and Program Management to support proposal efforts, draft agreements, and administer active government and commercial contracts.

From interpreting complex FAR/DFARS clauses and tracking key deliverables to processing modifications and ensuring audit-ready documentation, you’ll ensure that all the numbers add up and that Beast Code's contractual commitments align directly with operational targets.

To ensure complex contract details, government regulations, and company practices are in perfect harmony, the ideal candidate is a perfectionist at heart. You probably notice when a comma or decimal is out of place, you sweat all the small details, and you always read the small print. Heck, you probably write the small print. Take all the above as a compliment because it means you are super organized, communicative, and driven by a strong work ethic to get things done right. In a matrix organization that moves fast, you must be a ninja capable of slicing through tedious language to evaluate, understand, manage, and comply with intricate contract details and requirements.

Your day-to-day will look something like this:

  • Administer, monitor, and manage a portfolio of government and commercial contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, MOUs/MOAs, Teaming Agreements, and Purchase Orders from bid through closeout.
  • Review contractual documents to ensure rigorous adherence to company policy, FAR, and DFARS requirements while identifying contractual risks and compliance issues.
  • Assist in reviewing solicitation terms, identifying exceptions, preparing proposals, and assembling contract documentation packages.
  • Evaluate, log, and process contract changes and modifications, coordinating execution with internal program teams and external contracting officers.
  • Monitor contract milestones, deliverables, billing schedules, and payments, assisting Finance with invoice verification and cost-control tracking.
  • Assist with subcontract administration, ensuring appropriate FAR/DFARS flow-down provisions and required documentation are integrated.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready physical and digital contract files and manage metadata in internal databases to ensure compliance with records retention standards.
  • Timekeeping

This job might be for you if you bring:

  • Two to four years of contract administration experience, with direct exposure to federal government contracting and business operations.
  • Solid working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Foundational understanding of standard contract types long with their associated terms, conditions, and risk profiles.
  • An extremely detail-oriented and meticulous approach. You leave nothing open to interpretation, spot out-of-place language instantly, and thrive on organizational precision.
  • An over-communicator mindset and a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to build effective relationships and coordinate cross-functionally with agile engineering teams, program management, and external government agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and contract or document management systems.
  • Desire to grow in an award-winning culture

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Direct experience working within the defense-tech, software, or federal proposals sector.
  • Proficiency communicating and collaborating asynchronously via Slack and Teams
  • An active or previous U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Government Contracting, or a related discipline
