About Us

Dorsia is at the forefront of hospitality-tech innovation, redefining how the world gains access to the most in-demand restaurants, events, and experiences. By fusing cutting-edge technology with the art of luxury hospitality, we empower our members to secure impossible-to-get reservations while providing operators with unprecedented levels of control, visibility, and revenue optimization.

In 2025, we grew revenue 480% and scaled to 400+ venues across 25 destinations, with the launch of our Culture Calendar extending Dorsia beyond restaurants into the world’s most sought-after cultural moments.

Backed by $54M in funding from investors including Index Ventures, Invus, and Red Sea Ventures, and strategic partners including MoonPay, Major Food Group, and The Dinex Group - Daniel Boulud, we are entering our most consequential phase of growth and reshaping the global hospitality landscape. We’re adding exceptional talent to drive what comes next, and that’s where you come in.

About the Role

Dorsia is seeking a Controller to transform our accounting function with AI-powered tooling, scalable systems, and real-time financial reporting. The Controller will own accounting operations across month-end close, AP, budgeting, FinOps, audit, tax, payroll, and the controls that keep a fast-paced consumer business financially sound.

This is a role for someone meticulous by nature, who will go line by line through budgets and actuals, find what others miss, and treat AI tooling as a core part of the finance function. The right candidate has built and run the accounting function inside a high-growth consumer or marketplace business and understands the complexity of multi-stream revenue recognition.

What You'll Do:

Accounting & Close

  • Own the general ledger and full month-end close process, driving accuracy and continuously compressing close timelines.
  • Manage revenue recognition across memberships, transaction fees, minimum spends, and venue partnerships in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payment reconciliation across high-volume consumer transactions.
  • Deploy AI agents to automate reconciliation, journal entries, and close workflows.
  • Establish and document accounting policies, procedures, and a controls framework as the company scales.

Audit, Tax & Payroll

  • Lead annual audit preparation and serve as primary point of contact for external auditors, maintaining audit-ready books year-round.
  • Own tax compliance across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions, including sales tax obligations across 9+ global destinations.
  • Manage payroll operations end to end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance as headcount scales.
  • Build the internal controls, SOX-readiness, and compliance infrastructure required ahead of Series B.
  • Use AI tooling to monitor compliance obligations and flag exposure across jurisdictions in real time.

Cost Discipline & Financial Controls

  • Conduct line-by-line reviews of budgets and actuals, identifying cost reduction opportunities across every function.
  • Own vendor spend management, including contract review, renewal scrutiny, and spend consolidation.
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure budgets reflect operational reality and variances are caught and explained immediately.
  • Implement AI-driven anomaly detection across spend, flagging irregularities and unbudgeted expenses as they occur.
  • Build real-time reporting that gives leadership a precise, current view of cash, burn, and runway.

Winning Recipe

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA required; MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Direct experience working in a high-growth consumer, marketplace, or payments environment.
  • Understanding of complex revenue recognition spanning subscriptions, transaction fees, and multi-party payment flows.
  • Deep command of GAAP and hands-on experience across close, audit, tax, and payroll.
  • Proven track record of preparing a company for institutional audits and the financial scrutiny of late-stage fundraising.
  • Meticulous by nature, with a track record of catching the errors others miss.
  • A builder’s mindset towards AI, with demonstrated experience deploying AI agents and automation across close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
  • Low ego, high ownership, and the communication skills to make complex financials clear to operators across the business.
  • Experience in hospitality, luxury consumer, or live events is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, financial modeling tools, and accounting systems (i.e. NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, etc.).
  • Experience in Brex, Carta, Looker (BI), Bill.com, and Justworks are a plus.

Workplace Philosophy at Dorsia

At Dorsia, we believe that culture eats strategy. The best ideas in the world mean nothing without the right people around the table and the right chemistry between them. We are, unapologetically, a people-first organization.

In-Person Matters

We’re creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for the most discerning audience in the world. That doesn’t happen over Zoom. It happens through collisions: a spark across a desk, a kitchen-side conversation that unlocks a partnership, the energy of ideas felt, not typed. That’s why in-office culture is non-negotiable at Dorsia.

Who We Hire

We don’t subscribe to check-the-box hiring. We hire for merit and mindset, which naturally creates a team with varied backgrounds. What unites us isn’t demographics, it’s a shared vision: to build the social operating system for the cultural vanguard.

Lifestyle Hours

We’re not a 9-to-5 company. Our lifestyle mirrors our members. Early flights, after-work events, and late-night sprints when the work demands it. But we love what we do, and we definitely love a good party.

High Performance Culture

Working at Dorsia isn’t for everyone—and that’s the point. Our culture is designed for builders, not passengers. We move fast, set ambitious standards, and expect people to rise to them. If you have the talent and the drive, this will be a ride to remember.

A Final Word

We’re building something special. It will take long hours and relentless effort. It’s not for everyone. For those with the metabolism, you’ll create something that changes how culture is lived. And that’s the kind of work worth your life’s energy.
