Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.
 
We are currently seeking a Coord – Acquisitions & Productions to join our Films Group team, based in our New York, NY, office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research film libraries and identify potential titles for licensing. 
  • Develop programming strategies and verticals for streaming platforms. 
  • Maintain and update a detailed budget for acquiring films. 
  • Work hand in hand with scheduling team to closely identify complementary opportunities. 
  • Detailed negotiation of individual pictures as well as film libraries. 
  • Negotiate and execute contracts for licensed product. 
  • Attends local screenings and film festivals on behalf of acquisitions team 
  • Actively engages in discussions with content team to assess whether film submissions are a fit for release through IFC Entertainment Group and Shudder 
  • Assists the acquisitions team with various film festival preparations including Sundance, SXSW and Cannes 
  • Maintain and update our tracking databases containing sensitive information about films on release and in production 
  • Provides general administrative support for acquisitions team 
  • Track talent to watch in filmmaking space  
  • Liaise projects between various verticals within the film group 
  • Help move movies through the delivery, marketing, PR, and distribution pipeline making sure materials and administrative requirements are all fulfilled 
  • Operational maintenance on databases, spreadsheets and contracts 
     

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience 
  • Deep understanding of horror and independent films. 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Organizational and operational understanding of feature film releasing

The base compensation range for this position is $50,000- $55,000, commensurate with experience.
