Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, seeks a Coordinator of Competitive Intelligence to support its global business development initiatives. This role is responsible for conducting market research, tracking competitor activity, supporting pitches, and surfacing new business opportunities by delivering data-driven insights to attorneys and firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth research on companies, individuals, and industry sectors to support strategic growth efforts.
Summarize findings into partner-ready reports and briefings.
Monitor emerging trends across multiple industries to identify new client targets and business leads.
Compile biographical profiles and strategic background on potential clients and key decision-makers.
Use advanced research platforms such as Lexis, Capital IQ, Lex Machina, MergerMarket, and others to provide accurate and timely insights.
Collaborate closely with business development, marketing, attorneys, and research teams to support firm-wide strategic priorities.
Core Competencies:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic data visualization).
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to turn complex data into actionable intelligence.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Team-oriented, client-service focused, and capable of working collaboratively across departments.
Curious and solution-focused, able to synthesize diverse information into cohesive narratives.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required (preferred fields: research, law, business).
A minimum of 2 years of research or business development experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
