About the Role

Sei Labs is seeking a Corporate / Commercial Counsel to help build the operational and commercial backbone of one of the most innovative ecosystems in Web3. You’ll work across the Sei organization and its partners, managing commercial contracts, vendor relationships, and day-to-day operational legal work — all while helping refine the systems that keep the legal team moving at startup speed.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, business-minded attorney eager to develop a broad skill set and grow into a more senior role in the crypto space.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements (vendor, SaaS, partnership, grant, etc.).
  • Support entity governance, board coordination, and cross-entity recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to establish service level agreements (SLAs) and internal workflows.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to operationalize new initiatives and compliance frameworks.
  • Help coordinate external counsel and special projects, including data protection and employment matters.
  • Develop and refine internal processes for contract management and operational compliance (via Ironclad and other tools).

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; 3–5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house.
  • Background in corporate or commercial transactions, ideally within SaaS, fintech, or Web3.
  • Strong communicator with practical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable balancing structure with startup agility.
  • Passionate about technology, finance, and the future of decentralized systems.
